Luther College High School is a historic, independent high school for grade 9-12 students located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Luther College was founded in 1913 and consists of a high school and a university. The school's motto is "Quality education in a Christian context": the emphasis is on educating an intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically developed person in a progressive Christian context, where the principles of love, community, tolerance are of paramount importance.

Accommodation, meals, prices

  • The dormitory on campus is designed for 50 boys and 50 girls. Luther College High School students are part of a small, safe, close-knit community. It allows students to grow both personally and in relationships with others.
  • The double rooms are equipped with beds, desks and fitted wardrobes. Boarding students get access to a student lounge, wireless internet.
  • The cafeteria staff offers three meals a day, brunches on Saturday and Sunday, afternoon and evening snacks for all residents of the residence.

Activities Luther College High School

Athletics is part of the Luther College High School tradition. Sports activities promote physical development, team spirit, collaboration, communication skills, sportsmanship and time management.

Each year, Luther College High School forms a competitive golf team for a series of tournaments.

  • Students admitted to Luther College do not have to be Lutheran or Christian. The school values student diversity, welcoming students from all backgrounds, Luther College has a very diverse student population.
  • Luther College High School offers an excellent academic program and university preparation: 96% of students go on to graduate, go to Universities of Regina Saskatchewan, Toronto, Dartmouth, John Hopkins, McGill, Harvard, Oxford, Yale and Queens.
  • Graduates of the school became Rhodes Fellows and Nobel Prize winners.
  • Since 1953, Luther College has hosted the Luther Invitational Tournament, the longest-running high school basketball tournament in Western Canada.
  • Since 1973, Luther College has been producing an annual Broadway musical.

Facilities and equipment at Luther College High School

Luther College completed the CAD 18.3 million high school campus expansion in 2014. The campus houses a performance stage, three classrooms (two of which are dedicated to the fine arts), a gym and fitness center for students, a public area, fully renovated science labs, and modernized dormitories.

The cafeteria is the centerpiece of Luther College High School, where you can meet and socialize, study, and dine.

Admission dates and extra charges

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

International students must be proficient in English before applying: they are all tested by the ESL coordinator during the admission process. Students must apply by March 1st for the start date of the school year in September. Reception is also held in February.

  • All non-Saskatchewan students are required to reside in a hostel on campus.
  • The applicant and parents must have unique email addresses (separate).
  • Family friend's email address (for reference on the Confidential Report Form).
  • Current e-mail address of the teacher or principal (for reference on the confidential report form).
  • Electronic copy or scanned PDF of last report card OR final report card from last year.
  • Mastercard or Visa to provide a non-refundable application fee. An application fee must be paid prior to consideration of the application.

Luther College High School students are awarded scholarships in recognition of their achievements in the last academic year. Selection is carried out by the Faculty Scholarship Committee in accordance with the criteria for each scholarship.
