The International Business School offers its students a comprehensive international education. Undergraduate students combine the study of business with the study of English, French, Spanish or Italian (for foreign students, German is compulsory).

The International School of Management in Munich offers its students 1-2 semesters of study abroad in a European or foreign country. Depending on the specialization, ISM students choose an educational institution from more than 180 partner universities.

Things to know about

It is possible to attend preparatory courses. By attending the preparatory course, the student can adjust his level of knowledge to be prepared for the requirements of training.

If the student has completed preparatory training, he can use the services of a third-party certified supplier or take intensive preparatory courses ISM: in English and in mathematics. The preparatory course of mathematics includes the simplification of terms, the solution of equations and systems of equations, differential and integral calculus.

A preparatory course of English costs 360 euros, a preparatory course of mathematics costs 270 euros.

All preparatory courses must be successfully completed before the start of the course. Proof of this must be provided in the form of a written confirmation (number of lessons, teacher, period, student) no later than the day of enrollment.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Accommodation in the dormitories of the International School of Management costs from 250 to 350 euros per month. Students can also find accommodation off campus:

  • Studio. Fully furnished studio-style dormitories with multiple bedrooms.
  • Apartments: fully furnished, with living room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and balcony.
  • Student residences owned and maintained by student service organizations are available throughout the city. This is the most affordable type of housing: on average from 200 to 250 euros per month.

Places to stay are in high demand, so it is recommended to apply as early as possible through the website of the Studentenwerk administration located at the chosen university.

There is also the option to rent from a private landlord or real estate agent. Prices vary greatly depending on the location and quality of the apartment, but on average it ranges from 200 to 350 euros per month.

Whether they are fellow students, alumni or interested persons – SV will gladly answer all questions and try to find a solution to every problem. Student activities are an integral part of the educational concept and are actively supported by ISM.

The university offers a variety of sporting activities. Sporting events are run by the Department of Sports, which is also responsible for organizing tournaments ranging from interdepartmental to inter-university games.

Enrolment process

In the admission process, those applicants who are best suited to study at ISM due to their abilities, motivation and personality structure are selected.

The admission process takes place in one day and is divided into two parts:

  • Written assessments of academic performance in mathematics and English (online via Skype).
  • Personal interview (online, via Skype).
  • Academic assessments (online).

The assessment includes a test in mathematics and English. Programs taught in English do not require prior knowledge of the German language. Foreign applicants who cannot confirm the B2 level in German must pass it as a second foreign student. All other applicants must choose between French and Spanish. If they already have the skills to speak one of these languages, you will be assigned a test.

  • In-person interview (online)

The in-person interview takes place as a classic job interview and explores the main personality traits.
