The International Foundation.

Brief information: The International Foundation program is a special training program designed for foreign students and anyone who wants to increase their chance for admission to EU Business School Munich and other universities in Europe and the world.

About the educational program: The program is aimed to develop the level of knowledge to universities level. If necessary the student can first take special English courses. The program is conducted in one direction - Business Bridging Program.

Age of participants: 18 years old.

Duration of the program: 1 semester.

The International Foundation program lasts for 1 semester out of three available options:

  • Beginning in January: from January 26 to May 11 (from March 26 to April 6, spring holidays);
  • Beginning in October: from September 29 to January 19 (winter holidays from December 18 to January 5);
  • Beginning in May: from May 25 to August 31 (from July 23 to July 27, summer holidays).

Admission requirements:

  • Diploma of completion of school (certificate with good grades);
  • Knowledge of English (TOEFL 60 (internet-based), 173 (computer-based), IELTS 5.0, CAE B2, PTE 36);
  • Language of instruction: English.

Classes include the following blocks of disciplines:

  • Academic English is based on developing the English language skills required for university studies;
  • Academic disciplines are studying several subjects necessary for revealing topics related to the chosen direction;
  • Learning skills and communication skills.

During training different types of educational processes are used:

  • Lectures;
  • Working in groups or mini-groups;
  • Interactive lessons;
  • Seminars;
  • Independent work.

Business (Bridging Program).

Modules of the training program:

  • English for business. The global economy of modern business involves the mandatory ability to communicate effectively in English to successfully work in the business world and build a career. This interactive course focuses on how to conduct business in English, as well as the development of common language skills required for this;
  • Introduction to the economy. International students get acquainted with the history of the emergence and formation of a modern economy, including key players and theories that are relevant today. The course gives a general idea of ​​the nature of the economy and its impact on all aspects of life, focusing on how decisions are made: students reflect on their personal choices, as well as on making important organizational decisions;
  • Learning skills. Getting good grades at higher levels requires well-developed learning skills. The course focuses on: time management, group training, stress management, exam methods, research skills, confident academic writing and planning for the next steps;
  • Communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively and establish contact in any situation is necessary for success in business. This course focuses on the need to continuously improve communication, both active and passive, and provides basic tools for improving oral and written skills. Using role-playing games and interactive exercises provides the student with a platform for improvement, and, at the same time, increases confidence in public speaking;
  • Fundamentals of management. Management science has become widespread in modern society, but many, especially young people, do not know about the serious opportunities for quality management. Students learn their own informal meetings with the world of business and organizations that occur in everyday life in order to develop an understanding of what is business and what constitutes good business practice. The course is taught through a combination of theory, case analysis, written assignments, readings and group discussion;
  • Business and society. The course is intended to familiarize students with issues related to the impact of business on society and vice versa. The course introduces students to the concepts of social responsibility and aims to enrich their understanding of what management of the "ethical" business means. This course can serve as a knowledge base for subsequent in-depth courses. Particular attention is paid to the complex role of social responsibility in the organization, as well as the impact of the external environment on business activities. The course includes lectures, case studies, written assignments, group work, class discussions and presentations;
  • Introduction to law. This course is intended to familiarize students with the legal framework with which any business activity and understanding of the functions of the main institutions of business law (using the institutions of the European Union as examples) can collide. Students will learn the main legal terminology, learn to read and analyze legal documents and texts, understand the principles and rules of applying certain legal norms in all areas of business.
