Description of Halle Studienkolleg (Preparatory College)

  • Location: Halle, Germany,
  • Number of students: about 300,
  • Language of instruction: German,
  • Type of study: blended.

Halle Studienkolleg is a privately-run preparatory college that has received approval from the Ministry of Saxony-Anhalt. It specializes in preparing students for admission to German universities and higher education institutions.

At Halle Studienkolleg, students can choose from two distinct academic courses: TI and WW.

The first program, TI, allows students to concentrate on the natural and exact sciences, equipping them with valuable knowledge required for admission to technical universities.

The second program, WW, focuses on business and social sciences. This specialization provides students with the opportunity to become qualified professionals and bypass entrance exams at any university in Germany.

A typical school certificate may not suffice for entry into German higher education institutions, which is why Halle Studienkolleg's courses are designed to prepare students for a crucial examination called the FSP (Feststellungsprüfung). Successful completion of the FSP qualifies graduates to apply to any institution in accordance with the specialized program they have completed.

The primary objective of Halle Studienkolleg is to provide effective education to its students. To achieve this goal, the institution employs modern pedagogical concepts, maintains a practical and international focus, fosters a motivating learning environment, and encourages the development of students' personal qualities. This approach allows students not only to immerse themselves in the intensive study of their chosen field of science but also to allocate time for personal interests and hobbies while exploring one of the world's leading countries in the realm of education – Germany.

Educational process

In addition to the two specialized courses, the Halle Studienkolleg offers a short prerequisite course to prepare for professional programs. It is optional and is not considered a complete curriculum, but it is very useful for international students: by attending classes, they will be able to gain the linguistic and professional skills necessary to prepare well for the start of classes.

Things to know about

The Halle Studienkolleg provides students with the opportunity to retake a semester of study in the event that the final exam has not been passed. For five months, the student will study only those subjects in which he did not receive enough points, and then take the exam procedure again.
