Description of IUBH School of Business and Management

IUBH School of Business and Management

International University of Applied Sciences IUBH was founded in 1998 and is today considered to be one of the best German private universities. Many educational programs of the university were recognized in 1999 by the national Ministry of Education and Science (North Rhine-Westphalia region), and in 2002 the university became members of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World (this is the association of the best hotel schools around the world, currently Is called Hotel Schools of Distinction). The success of the university led to its expansion - in 2009 a new campus was opened in the resort of Bad Reichenhall, and in 2015 - a large Berlin branch.

All studying, like communication on campuses, is conducted in English, in addition, you can also learn German. The total number of students reaches 1,600 people, of which 35% are foreign students. The students are attracted by the excellent quality of education: on average, each graduate takes a leading position within 2 years after graduation from the university.

The main directions of studying are bachelor's and master's degrees. Specializations can be different:

  • International Management
  • Tourism
  • Marketing
  • Hospitality
  • Aviation.
  • The undergraduate students can additionally choose:
  • Logistics and transport
  • Accounting and finance
  • Human resources
  • Information technology
  • Health.

If the first education of a student is not in the field of business, a master's degree can be obtained in the direction of international management or an MBA.

Professional internships: the university cooperates with a large number of large well-known enterprises that are interested in the education of valuable workforce. Among them you can note Kempinski, AirBerlin, Lufthansa, airports in Cologne and Frankfurt, Althoff, Hilton, WorldWide and other large corporations with a international reputation. In the university there is a special department dealing with vocational guidance and career issues: it will help in organizing internships and practical work, contacting the representatives of companies and approving the dates and conditions. For example, undergraduate students undergo mandatory internship for one semester - this makes them more in demand and valuable specialists after graduation. Every year, a major Career Days job fair, trade shows, corporate presentations, lectures of general directors and large managers - all this helps students to establish useful contacts and acquaintances and easily find a job after graduation.

Students of preparatory courses can not work on the territory of the country, unlike undergraduate and graduate students: they can work 120 full or 240 part-time days in one year. Graduates have a work permit for 1.5 years after graduation: in case of successful employment, the term is extended for another 3 years. If during this time the student has successfully worked, he can apply for EU Blue Card (permanent residence permit in Germany).
