Education information

The UK education system is probably one of the most conservative in the world. This is partly due to its age – the appearance of the first secondary schools in the country and Oxford University dates back to the XII century. From that time to this day, discipline and a high level of teaching quality remain the main distinguishing features of the British educational system. Simultaneously, the English education system not only keeps pace with the times, but also often outstrips it: the pursuit of excellence and reverence for traditions here perfectly coexists with the latest educational programs and practices.

One of the most difficult subjects studied by schoolchildren from different countries is mathematics. This subject is especially necessary for those students who are going to connect their lives with engineering and technical professions.

There are a huge number of schools and educational centers on the territory of the state, where a foreign student can easily improve his knowledge of English and obtain in-depth studying of maths, while educational institutions are located in every British city. One of the most popular cities for learning is Oxford, where the world–famous university of the same name is located: this is a great place for young people, combining the spirit of English culture and the atmosphere of a real student.

Maths programme of the study in Oxford – main specifics

In Oxford, children start studying at the age of 4. In fact, it is a kindergarten, where children get acquainted with arithmetic through games. Interactive forms are developed by experienced teachers who lay in them elements of arithmetic knowledge and skills. The game system allows you to develop thinking, distribute the workload and teach children the elements of mathematical operations.

The next stage of teaching maths in private schools in Oxford to schoolchildren begins at the age of 11. At this age, special classes are held aimed at identifying abilities in mathematics. Pupils are divided into three or four groups, according to their abilities. The program for all groups is the same, but the intensity of studying in time is different. The level of tasks that the student performs corresponds to their level of knowledge and abilities. In this case, the goal is achieved - the task is completed. Otherwise, children may become disillusioned with the subject and not want to master it further.

In maths schools in Oxford, another element is used to stimulate students – when passing exams, the part of the solution where the solution method is determined is evaluated with high scores, even if the answer is incorrect. Thus, the student's desire for logical thinking is supported.

All teachers of the leading secondary schools in Oxford are professional in their field. They know perfectly well how to motivate students, how to make learning easy and enjoyable, how to instill a desire to learn new things, grow and develop. If a child is ready to receive knowledge, then he will definitely be a candidate for admission to one of the best universities not only in the UK (Oxford, Cambridge Universities), but also around the world. In addition to teachers working with a small class, each student is provided with a personal coordinator who helps to master the academic program and makes the student's stay more pleasant not only at school, but also outside it.

Textbooks that are used in teaching, necessarily consist of several parts: the actual textbook, an application where tasks of a more complex level are concluded, and an electronic version with video materials. Competitions, Olympiads and international programs are an important part of teaching mathematics. Victories in Olympiads and the implementation of international programs contribute to admission to universities.

All students in Oxford schools strive to complete an additional program, which is taught for them by special teachers. Skills related to filling out grant applications and receiving grants themselves are acquired here. The implementation of grants provides an opportunity to prove themselves in science.
