Description of Le Régent International School
The international school of the British model Regent College is a unique opportunity to get a high-quality education of the British standard in the Swiss Alps. Regent College is very young - it was opened in 2015, but it is already spoken of as one of the most promising institutions in Europe, providing incredibly effective and balanced educational programs. The school adopted a mixed studying: both boys and girls are accepted on equal terms and conditions. The children can begin education from 5 years, the board is accessible to students from 7 years old and up to the release.
The main principles of education are Courage, Compassion, Courtesy and Creativity. The school aims to give children not only a quality academic education, but also to help them to develop as harmonious, all-round personalities, to instill in them a global way of thinking, to teach them to form a steady motivation to achieve high personal goals. The professional staff of qualified, experienced teachers supports students at any stage of the studying: it is always possible to take an individual lesson or consultation, to get valuable advice, to discuss their strengths and weaknesses, to plan the way for further development - teachers are ready to accept students practically around the clock.
The emphasis is on the so-called interdisciplinary education, the development of imaginative and creative thinking, the inculcation of professional skills necessary in the modern world. Despite the academic richness and rigor of the basic curriculum, children get the opportunity to relax and have fun in the course of many activities and electives: here you can visit various sections and clubs of creative and sporting orientation, study dramatic or musical skills. Especially comfortable will be the students who prefer tennis, skiing, golf and horseback riding - for these sports there is all the necessary infrastructure and equipment, school teams and team work.
The studying is conducted in English, but in addition students can learn many other foreign languages, starting from elementary school:
- French
- Chinese (North Chinese dialect)
- Spanish
- English as an Additional Language
- Russian
- Italian
- English as a Second Language
- German
On average, in each group of Regent College, there are 14 students: this gives the teacher a maximum amount of attention to each student, to more carefully track his achievements and successes, in case of difficulties, to promptly adjust the curriculum. The ratio of teachers and students is 1: 8. In general, the school enrolls 100 people on the program of junior classes and 230 high school students.
Special programs are also planned for high school students who plan to enter universities: this is a general preparatory course, and vocational orientation classes, and preparation for UCAS, and even a course for Oxbridge.
What are the most important questions parents ask when looking for the right Swiss school?
First of all, safety and reliability for children is assessed. They are also looking for extracurricular activities, opportunities to travel around the country and beyond, in general the lifestyle on campus.
