What distinguishes Swiss schools, making them highly valued by parents?

Several factors make Swiss schools stand out: safety, the opportunity for year-round sports and activities (like water sports, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, and team sports), and the chance to learn multiple languages amidst a rich cultural backdrop. Swiss education paves the way to top universities, and many state-owned Swiss universities offer world-class education at minimal cost.

Things to know about

All students have the opportunity to participate in the Inspired Global Exchange program: it offers exchanges between boarding schools of the network around the world, where the organization provides a homestay program. Each exchange offers a unique opportunity to explore a new environment, improve language skills, make new friends, and experience new cultures. Exchanges last from four weeks to a year, with the student assigned a place at St. George's International School.

Review about St. George's International School, Switzerland

Kym
(20.03.2023)
Hello! My son, Myles, is 13 years old. He has been attending private school here in California, USA from Pre K to 8th grade currently. He has previously played flag football and basketball for his school team. He has great interest in science. As he’s finishing his last year in middle school, this year, we are helping him to explore his options for his next 4 years of high school. Please kindly advise if there are still availability and it is still possible for Myles to apply for the 2023-2024 school year, as a 9th grader. Thank you in advance.

They transferred my son to St. George from another Swiss school in the German-speaking part. I want to say that St. George is one of the best schools in Switzerland in the exact sciences. The child wanted to study mathematics and physics, and in the previous school it was very easy for him. In St. George, everything is fine with this, they decided that he would study at the A-level in order to concentrate on those subjects that he really needs and is interested in (at the school A-level and IB). Also, a big plus is that the prices for studies and additional expenses are quite transparent. It is not necessary at the end of each term to find out with the accounting department of the school, for what they billed such an amount. Compared to our past experience of studying in Switzerland, this is a big plus.
