- The duration of training is 8-15 weeks.
At the university, students are given the opportunity to improve their level of knowledge in one or more of the following languages:
- English language
- Greek
- Spanish
- Russian.
Depending on the existing knowledge and goals, the training lasts for 8-15 weeks. Basically, the courses are suitable for beginners with the A1-A2 level, but native speakers of the B1 level can study in English and Greek programs.
Classes are adapted to the group of students and their skills, include the gradual development of colloquial speech and vocabulary replenishment, the level of fluency in reading and writing, using a communicative approach - regular communication with a native speaker.
Professional Courses, Professional Courses
- The duration of training is 12 hours, 9 weeks.
Students who already have professional qualifications can improve their academic status by attending short-term courses:
- Certification seminar in the field of intercultural communication – 12 hours of classes,
- Certification course in public relations lasting 9 weeks.
The first option is suitable for those who would like to expand their field of knowledge and learn new experience from qualified teachers who have a long-term career in intercultural communications. The second course will help students obtain a certificate confirming the qualifications of an employee in public relations - in these classes, students will consider the areas of advertising, business, education, politics and government of their own choice.
Technical Courses, Technical Courses
- The duration of training is 12 and 31 hours.
The institution offers two technical courses for those wishing to broaden their horizons and gain new knowledge in the following specializations:
- Food stylist,
- The practice of positive parenting.
The courses are a deepening into the chosen topic and last 31 and 12 hours, respectively. At the end of the program, students are awarded a certificate of completion of a technical course, which will strengthen the portfolio and confirm the level of professional skills.
Accommodation, meals, prices
At present, AUCY does not have residential buildings but can assist in finding suitable accommodation options. There are public transportation stops and residential areas near the university where apartments or flats can be rented.
AUCY has a cafeteria on campus that offers a wide selection of dishes made from local ingredients. There are no fixed meal plans.

Facilities and equipment at American University of Cyprus AUCY
AUCY has ambitious plans for the expansion and improvement of its two academic campuses located in Larnaca and Ayia Napa. The main campus in Larnaca is currently operational and offers students modern equipment in all classrooms: lecture halls, research labs, and computer labs. The campus has a cafeteria, relaxation and self-study areas, conference rooms, a gym, and a multi-purpose sports field. The second academic area will soon provide facilities for existing and new faculties.
Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year begins in the fall semester, which runs from September to early February. During this period, there are winter holidays (approximately December 21st to January 7th), as well as exams (tentative dates: January 29th to February 7th). The fall semester is followed by the spring semester, which concludes in early summer. Students can also enjoy additional breaks, time off during international and national holidays, and graduation exams.

Enrolment process
Applicants need to fill out an online application and provide the required documents, and then, after receiving a positive response from the admissions committee, arrive on campus for an interview and entrance tests. For foreign applicants, tests can be conducted online using Skype or Zoom programs.
At the stage of coordinating the arrival of the student, the admissions staff will help with the registration of a student residence permit, which will allow him to stay in Cyprus throughout the entire period of study.
Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
Requirements for applicants for bachelor's degree:
- Applicants must have a school leaving certificate or its equivalent as determined by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus.
- All applicants must complete high school. A school education or secondary school curriculum must be equivalent to 12 years.
Requirements for admission to the magistracy:
- Applicants must have a bachelor's degree.
Requirements for the English entry level:
- TOEFL – minimum score 550 for paper, 213 – for computer, 79 – for Internet testing.
- IELTS – minimum score 6. If a student scores between 5.5 and 6, they will attend supportive language classes in their first year.
- IGCSE – "C" score in English.
Students can take the AUCY English Entrance Test.
