The Perse School is considered to be one of the oldest schools in the world. It was based on the project and on the funds of the English scientist and philanthropist Stephen Percy (1548-1615), whose name perpetuated in the name of the school. The motto of the school sounds like: "Who does for others, does for himself." The school introduced fully coeducational studying only in 2012.

The school has unique teaching methods developed in accordance with the spirit and principles of the school. Specialists of the school conduct daily painstaking work to educate talented young men and women who are able to take responsibility for their lives and help others.

140 teachers work at the school, about 40 freelance teachers and 100 people of service staff. The school's specialists are trying to ensure that children feel at home here. Only a happy child can be successful and learn well.

There are currently four children's departments in the Perse School:

  • 4-7 years - Pelican (initial)
  • 7-13 years - Prep school (middle)
  • 13 -16 years old - Senior school
  • 16-18 years old - Sixth Form (senior).

Perse School has a unique program to help high school students to identify their professional preferences and choice of university and specialty for admission. The program employs 10 highly qualified specialists who are in constant contact with students, teachers, parents, the scientific community. Experts help students to better understand and comprehend their strengths and weaknesses; to carry out a complex of measures for career counseling. The effectiveness of this program is demonstrated by the consistently high performance of students, and their admission to the best universities in Britain. The program is not paid separately, the program costs are compensated from the trimester payment.

The educational programs of the department are developed in the most careful way. The collective effort is aimed at the comprehensive development of small pupils. During the studying, children receive the knowledge and skills necessary for understanding the world around them and their "I". Teaching helps children to:

Upper school (year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)

Students get knowledge of the GCSE program. The technology of the program helps to prepare for the exams required for admission to the Sixth Form. The subjects are divided into thematic groups, each schoolboy chooses 3-4 directions and studies in the end 8-10 subjects.

12-13 classes include active preparation for entering the university. Studying is conducted at the rate of A level, which involves studying 4-5 disciplines in the first year of studying and 3-4 - on the second. You can choose from a list of 22 subjects:

During the academic year, the groups compete among themselves for the title of the best house. Sports events, personal success of pupils, and olympiads, various contests are also counted. To win the victory of his school at the end of the trimester and year is very honorable, that's why every student tries to make his contribution.

The pupils of the school regularly travel to Britain, visit iconic places, museums, theaters. School life is full of participation in various circles and sections, meetings with the intellectual, cultural, business elite of the country (including representatives and fthe school's graduates).

School actively cooperates with universities: high school students have the opportunity to visit Oxford and Cambridge (and other educational institutions) for the purpose of acquaintance with university life and a better understanding of their future.

Facilities and equipment at The Perse School

The school is located in Cambridge, near the famous University of Cambridge. Transport and communication routes make it easy to get from here to any place, including London.

All the premises of the school are equipped with the last word of technology. In the classrooms there is spacious, light, constant comfort temperature regardless of weather conditions. In addition to classrooms, libraries, scientific laboratories in the school there are first-class places for rest, walks, solitude.

School is rightly proud of its sports facilities. Basketball courts, football fields, swimming pool, sports grounds - all buildings and equipment are maintained in the school at a very high level. At school there are about 40 (!) different circles and sections, each of which has all the necessary arsenal of equipment in stock.

The academic year is divided into traditional trimesters:

  • Autumn - from September 6 to December 14 (vacation from October 20 to October 30)
  • Spring - from 4 January to 28 March (vacation from 12 to 16 February)
  • Summer - from 16 April to 5 July (vacations from 28 May to 1 June).

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

  • The application for admission to the selected year of study should be submitted no later than the middle of December preceding the year of receipt.
  • Applicants must communicate in English, read and write at a level appropriate to their age.
  • Applicants submit their own school exam
  • A special interview is conducted
  • The level of English must correspond to IELTS level 5.5-6.0 (Upper Intermediate / Advanced)
  • High academic achievement at previous place of study
  • To enter the GSCE program: 9 or 10 items with A *, A, B or C in each
  • To enter the A Level program: 7C points in the IGCSE or 7B points in the GCSE; good discipline and 100% attendance.
