Barnardiston Hall School is surrounded by a 32 acre site on the border of Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. The school accepts for full-time education of girls and boys from six months to 13 years, full, partial boarding is opened to students from the age of 7 years. Day nursery + 1 class - 6 months - 3 years

A unique program is designed for students from 6 months to 3 years. Experience in groups of cohabitation for students of different ages brings benefits: younger students learn from older students, and older students develop their social skills, including care for younger peers. This creates a soft and warm atmosphere. Students have access to a variety of learning opportunities in a comfortable, specially equipped room on the territory of the nursery, as well as in the garden.

At the age of 6 months, pupils visit the nursery at least 3 times a week, receive meals, snacks during the day.

The program includes the study of natural phenomena, colours, forms, artistic creativity, individual lessons, counting, reading and writing, music, walks in the fresh air, reading, singing.

The pupils of the nursery and class 1 become familiar with the French language: students from 2 years old learn the score from 1 to 10, memorize simple poems and songs. Early acquaintance with another language allows them to confidently learn French in Pre-Prep School.

In the first class there are experienced qualified teachers who understand the need to be at the same time a teacher, mentor. All of them have rich experience of communication with young students. First graders begin to wear a school uniform.

The educational program includes seven areas:

The schedule is constructed in such a way that the students have enough time for games, walks in nature, visiting a pet corner. First graders have lessons in ballet, music, and French.

Pre-Prep School - 4-7 years old

Pre-Prep School students continue to develop knowledge and skills in seven areas, to which arithmetic, grammar, calligraphy, reading instruction are added, students work under the programs of Jolly Phonics, Abacus Maths.

Due to the small class sizes and the help of a junior school assistant, teachers can give students individual attention. Students are engaged in physical education, sports (rugby, hockey, athletics), master the art, French language, music.

Prep School - 7-13 years old (full board)

The academic opportunities of Barnardiston exceed the requirements of the National Curriculum: after passing the general entrance exams, graduates enter the best private and public schools. For over a decade, all students at the Barnardiston Hall School have been accepted into the upper classes of their chosen schools. The Prep-School program includes an extensive sports component: girls play netball, hockey, tennis, go in for athletics, orienteering, and run cross-country. Boys play rugby, hockey, cricket, work out the skills of cross-country, orienteering.

Much attention at this stage of studying is given to the all-round development: art, drama, music. The school choir sings in local cathedrals and churches and takes part in several prestigious concerts during the year. Students learn to play musical instruments, to receive prestigious music awards, including scholarships in high school.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The comfortable Barnardiston residences provide a happy homely atmosphere. The sense of community stimulates development, provides security due to the fact that all members of the community know each other well. Students learn to live in a team, share with others, and make friends. Accommodation is available from the age of seven. There are several options for the guesthouse:

  • Stay 1, 2 nights.

Living in a school is an effective way to acquaint students with the life of a boarding school. Borders are under constant care and control by staff. Mr. and Mrs. Dodgson - the principal, his wife and their family also live in Barnardiston Hall. They are fully involved in all aspects of care, creating a family atmosphere in Barnardiston.

The school offers a wide range of leisure activities, evenings and weekends, which makes a valuable contribution to the academic and creative work of students. Extracurricular activities are organized in the following areas:
