Cambridge Seminars College is a small college that provides A-Levels, Foundation, Pre-Masters and Pre-PhD programs to students from 14 to 19 years old.

The institution was founded in 1981 as an educational institution for young people coming to the UK and planning to pursue higher education. The college helps in preparing for admission to universities, passing and re-passing exams, "pulling up" difficult subjects for the student. Every year about 160 students study here, many of them are foreigners.

A-Level

An A-Level qualification is a common method of admission to UK universities for undergraduate programmes. Students usually study three disciplines out of a hundred offered, related to the field they want to study at the university. 

The full course takes two academic years, but the institution also offers an intensive option lasting between 9 and 18 months (50% more expensive on average). The weekly load is:

  • 10 hours in each subject when choosing an intensive course,
  • 5 hours of each discipline and 10 hours of English language study – for the usual two-year program.

The Foundation program is designed to prepare for university studies, includes many areas: from business studies to game design, from art to robotics.  Each program consists of three main subjects related to the chosen field of study. For example, international business will include business studies, economics and international relations, and engineering – mathematics, physics and mechanics.

Academic English

An additional english language course is taught by qualified teachers of different specialties, which allows students to master the language in the study of various disciplines.

The basic learning strategy is reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students can both improve their knowledge as a whole, comprehensively, and successfully prepare for a number of exams required in other programs.

Pre-PhD

This three-month course includes thematic blocks:

  • Design, write and present a research proposal.

Employees of the college will explain in detail to students the admission procedure, help prepare for the mandatory tests LNAT, UKCAT, BMAT (medical programs and law courses), talk about what awaits them in a higher education institution.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Several types of accommodation are available to students: dormitories and host families.

Only those who are at least 18 years old can stay in the Tripos Court dormitory. The residential building is recently renovated and offers single rooms with bathrooms, kitchen and guest space residents share with neighbors. The hostel is conveniently located - nearby there are cinemas, restaurants and supermarkets, and the road to the educational campus will take only ten minutes on foot.
