The Language Academy TLA is one of the largest, most well-known and respected language schools in the United States, which opened its doors in 1998 for the first time. Today, the network schools are located in many large cities in the US, and popular summer camps for teenagers from around the world (14-18 years old) are opened in Fort Lauderdale, Miami Gardens and Los Angeles.

At school, students are offered not only an effective and balanced English course, but also a variety of leisure and entertainment activities, excursions - so students can practice their knowledge and skills in a free, informal atmosphere, and also learn a lot about the culture and history, the sights of the USA.

The Language Academy TLA strives to offer each student a lesson in close connection with his personal and academic needs, preferences and abilities, comprehensively developing all key language skills:

Before starting the education, all students undergo an introductory test to determine their initial level of knowledge and abilities: by results, they are allocated to the appropriate level of the group, which makes learning more productive and comfortable. In addition, students-beginners are waiting for a personal interview with a senior teacher who will also check his level of preparation. The first day of the school's stay also includes a sightseeing tour and an introduction to the campus, with the features and benefits of living in Fort Lauderdale. Summer English courses for children and schoolchildren

Summer universal, general English course is available for students with any level of initial education. Upon arrival, all students undergo an introductory test, which distributes them to the appropriate group according to the existing level of knowledge:

  • Beginner (initial);
  • Elementary;
  • Pre-Intermediate (lower middle);
  • Intermediate (medium);
  • Upper Intermediate (medium-advanced);
  • Advanced;
  • Proficiency (professional);
  • Mastery (perfect).

During the first day of novice students, an interview is also awaited with the senior teacher (who also helps with the distribution), an introduction to the campus and the main attractions and benefits of living in Fort Lauderdale.

The intensity of language classes is 15 hours a week - the program is aimed at a comprehensive improvement of all key, basic language skills:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, in each classroom there are up to 12 students (the ratio of students and teachers is 1:15). The remaining time after the lessons the students devote to the leisure-entertainment program, interesting excursions, sports games, relaxed beach rest.

Summer camp programs begin in July (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) or on August 6 (the program ends no later than August 19): arrivals on Sundays, departures on Saturdays. The length of stay is 2-3 weeks: students who choose to stay at the hotel can arrive a little earlier or stay for a couple of days at an additional cost.

Winter program of studying English

  • Age of students: 15 to 18 years
  • Dates: January 2 - January 26
  • Duration of the program: from 1 to 4 weeks.

The winter program for studying English at the Language Academy includes from 17 to 20 academic hours each week. Students of the school are engaged in well-equipped classrooms in small groups of up to 14 people. The minimum course duration is 1 week.

In English lessons, under the guidance of experienced teachers, students will learn each of the main sections of a foreign language - grammar, vocabulary, conversation and correct pronunciation, listening, reading, writing and not only.

Each lesson lasts for 45 minutes, daily the students study for 3-4 hours. The students of a language camp can devote free time to creativity or physical activity and entertainment. Since here the temperature is at the level of +25 degrees Celsius all year round, the entertainment activities will also correspond to the summer season - visiting the beach, parties, excursions to Miami or Orlando and etc.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The summer camp offers two options for comfortable and safe living:

  • Host American family (aged 15 and over)

In the homes of host families, carefully selected and tested by school staff, children can daily practice language skills with native English speakers, and also learn a lot about American traditions, mentality and culture, customs and ways of life. All houses are located no further than 8 kilometers from the school: they are in quiet, respectable and modern areas of the city surrounded by greenery.

Children are provided with double cozy rooms, access to all common areas (kitchen, restrooms, bathrooms, laundry with drying machines), free Wi-Fi (including on the school grounds), and daily expenses for urban transport are offset by the cost of the program. Meals are organized on the full board basis from Monday to Friday, on the weekend breakfasts and dinners are provided.

  • Hotel Residence

Luxury resort hotel 4 * with rooms for 3 people: a modern two-room apartment with a separate kitchen, bathroom and daily cleaning. The residence is located near the campus and city beach, nearby you can find many restaurants, bars, cafes and shops, entertainment centers and activities. Every day from the residence to the educational building and back there a special bus for children runs, high-speed Wi-Fi is available, students have access to the self-service laundry (for a small extra charge), to the tropical pool and jacuzzi.

Meals on weekdays are organized by the guest house, on weekends - half board (breakfasts + dinners).
