Middle School - grades 6-8

The academic high school program consists of seven disciplines:

The art program offers a choice of four possible subjects:

The program begins in September with a trip to Charlottetown, where students are given the opportunity to test themselves in each of the four types of destinations in one of Canada’s richest cultural communities. This approach encourages students to unleash their creative potential, hone their skills, and consider long-term plans in the field of art. Each art course ends with an exhibition of works by high school students.

Rothesay Netherwood School adheres to the view that learning can take many forms and take place in any environment: a scientific excursion to Spy Glass Hill, a classroom recreation room or an annual educational trip (Disney, Dominican Republic, Quebec City) become a learning platform, apprehension different points of view, alternative ways of obtaining knowledge and their application.

Senior School - Grades 9-10

Students in grades 9-10 learn the Pre-IB curriculum to prepare them for the official IB Diploma program offered in grades 11-12. The summer academic course is based on a balanced schedule similar to the IGCSE/GCSE. It will help to prepare for GCSE, IB or equivalent complex program, to tighten knowledge both in subjects and in English. The combination of theory and practice, including interesting laboratory classes, the development of research skills, the ability to make presentations, the improvement of IT skills - all this will help children learn more successfully and productively in the future. And most importantly - with pleasure!

The teachers of the course work according to the CLIL system and are trained in EAL methods, they are able to work with foreigners and teach English as a second, non-native language.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Rothesay Netherwood School offers students permanent and weekly accommodation. International students are accommodated in four residences on campus:

  • Mackay house;
  • Quinn house;
  • Kirk house;
  • Netherwood House.

All residences have common areas, laundry facilities, and Quinn House, Kirk House and Netherwood House also have a small kitchen. The residence experience prepares students for university life, helping them to become independent and organized. Students learn to live with others, learn to manage their time, lead a balanced life, paying attention to activities, entertainment, creativity, sports and social projects.

Activities Rothesay Netherwood School

An important part of life at Rothesay Netherwood is the programs and activities “Creativity, Activity, Service” (CAS) as components of the International Baccalaureate program in grades 11-12.

Creative events provide opportunities for personal growth and accomplishments in performance, music, and visual arts. Students can join a group, a choir, a student press, or participate in school plays.

Sports activities offer team, individual sports, recreational activities that promote sportsmanship, cooperation, and fitness. Scholarships Rothesay Netherwood School

RNS is pleased that it can award Atlantic Canadian Scholarships of up to $ 30,000 to students who are just entering school. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the scholarship portfolio and can be extended as long as the student maintains an average level of 85% and remains an active member of the RNS community.
