    Advanced Placement Program (AP)

  • Classes: 11-12.
  • While studying at grades 11 and 12, Bear Creek provides all students with the opportunity to complete Advanced Placement, which is recognized as one of the highest quality and most demanded high school standards in the world. AP lasts for two years and includes in-depth and intensive work on a number of selected disciplines.     Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Program

    Developing specialized skills to a higher standard is a special program adopted in the province of Ontario and conducted in educational institutions on its territory. This course allows students to gain specific skills, knowledge in various areas related to career and employment. It “tailors” students' school curricula based on their interests and helps them focus on their career goals and preferences. Students learn specific skills and abilities:

    Ontario Youth Apprenticehip (OYAP) Program

    This is a special program available in high school, which makes it possible to obtain additional working qualifications in the chosen field. Education is available to all full-time students who are at least 16 years old and have at least 16 credits under the high school standard. Goals and objectives of OYAP:

  • Providing students with the opportunity to start studying in a qualified profession, while fulfilling the requirements for an Ontario High School diploma
  • Allows students to get a direct transition to work from school.
  • Provides employers with the opportunity to train the skilled workers they need
  • Provides a viable solution to address the shortage of qualified and young professionals.
  • The training is based on the broad development of practical knowledge and skills: with the successful completion of the course, students receive a secondary education diploma and an additional certificate with which they can later get a job and start a professional activity.

    Accommodation, meals, prices

    The residence program provides students with a unique opportunity to live with a Canadian family. Local host families welcome foreign students in their homes and provide a safe and caring environment in which foreign students can learn about Canadian customs and culture and fully immerse themselves in English. Students living in a family are provided with a separate bedroom, study and three meals a day. The homestay system provides custody for under-18 students. Host families go through a rigorous selection process: home interview, detailed biography analysis and regular check-ups.
