What are the most important factors parents should consider when choosing a school?

Parents should consider the school’s academic record, philosophy and pastoral support network. The most important factor is ‘fit’, is this an environment my child will thrive within.

A - Level - a program known worldwide due to its high reputation in terms of preparing students for university studies. Due to the fact that within two years, students focus only on 4-6 core subjects, students achieve a high level of knowledge in the majors. The course is available in two versions: a duration of two years (classic A - Level ) and an abbreviated version - 18 months.

The course of increased complexity requires high academic knowledge and level of language training:

  • IELTS 6.5
  • Passing entrance tests in priority areas
  • The successes and achievements at the previous place of study are taken into account.

The A - Level course is of great importance for the future life of a student: the results of the A - Level exam , which students take at the end of the course, are the first things that university admissions boards look at. Oxford International College is proud of the success of its graduates: with 50% probability, college graduates enter the University of Cambridge and 100% - at the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. Strong areas of training - engineering, medicine, physics, biology, sociology.

Pre-A-Level

  • Dates: start of classes on September 1
  • Age: 14-15 years old
  • Language learning: English.

The A - Level training course is very relevant for many students from abroad: first of all because of the high requirements for admission to the programs of British schools and universities, including the A - Level program - applicants must demonstrate high academic knowledge and advanced level of English proficiency - IELTS 6.5. Therefore, the main focus is on learning the language, mastering language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) at the level of a native speaker and academic English (ability to read academic literature, understanding the terminological apparatus, writing scientific papers). Substantive subjects are thoroughly studied. As a result of the training, students will gain confidence in their abilities, adapt to the new academic environment and actualize knowledge in subjects.

Review about Oxford International College

Khugaev Ilya
(07.12.2021)
My son entered this college after an international Russian school. To be honest, there was a prejudice about international colleges at first. It seemed that the level of training there was weaker. In fact, at the consultation, it was explained to us that this is not the case. And later, when we were shown the data on the final exams, it became clear that this is more of a stereotype. Oxford International was in first place at that time. And International here also does not mean that only foreigners study, there are many British children in the school, in general, the national composition is diverse. Learning is not easy, but we initially counted on a high level of load.
