Founded more than a century and a half ago, the Tudor Hall School is one of the oldest educational institutions for girls throughout the UK. Pre-GCSE

Pre-GCSE - secondary school program for female students aged from 11 to 14 years. Duration of studying is 3 years, from the seventh to the ninth grade. At this stage, students study 17 compulsory subjects: in addition to the usual mathematics, computer science, physics, geography, history, as well as the linguistic block, including English, French and Latin, the program includes courses such as:

  • Classic civilizations.

GCSE

GCSE is a high school program designed for female students from 14 to 16 years old. It consists of two blocks of disciplines: compulsory for studying and with a choice.

Compulsory courses include:

  • English literature;

  • Chemistry;
  • Physics;
  • Biology.

The following disciplines are available for students to choose from:

  • One of the European languages: French, German, Spanish;
  • Latin;

  • Computer science, design, technology.

One of the most important tasks of the GCSE program, teachers see the formation of a lively interest in studying, the skill of an independent comprehensive study of the topics, therefore the educational process takes place in various formats, including:

  • Open discussions;
  • Individual and group projects with reports.

If female students choose drama in the number of subjects studied, they must take part in the annual festival dedicated to the work of Shakespeare (the organization of the event takes place at the national level).

A-Level

A-Level is a two-year pre-university education program for high school students aged 16 to 18 years, which implies a weekly load of 20 to 25 academic hours, including English and the subjects chosen by the student. The certificate of successful completion and passing of A-Level tests indicates that a full-fledged secondary education has been obtained and allows its owner to enter UK universities.

The main goal of the program is to successfully prepare students of the Tudor Hall School to enter the desired university. Within the A-Level course, each student individually selects from three to six subjects to study out of 45 possible. In addition to linguistic, exact, and natural cycle sciences, one can study, for example, psychology, political science, consulting and business-oriented, entrepreneurship lectures.

It is very important to choose the right list of subjects, focusing on the requirements of the future university, because the success of entering the university directly depends on the correspondence of courses and exam scores.

The program consists of two levels of study:

  • After the first year, students receive an AS-Level;
  • After the completion of the second academic year - A2-Level.

For applicants who want to enroll at the Tudor Hall School at 15-16 years old (most often after finishing ninth grade in the Russian Federation), the administration offers to join current high school students, to spend the day with them and visit the items that the student would like to study at AS.

Accommodation, meals, prices

In addition to the opportunity to attend Tudor Hall School on a full-time basis, there is the right to live here on full-board basis. In this case, the girls are settled in one of three buildings:

  • Residence Todd House for students from 11 to 13 years;
  • The Ills - housing for female students aged 13 to 16 years;
  • Residence for high school students 16-18 years.

All buildings have bedrooms, living rooms, studying rooms. Girls can relax in the winter garden, and high school students are provided with the opportunity to cook for themselves, to monitor their belongings (plates in the kitchen and washing machines are additionally installed in their residence).

Tudor Hall School provides full three meals a day (boarding) hot meals.

Activities Tudor hall school

The school provides an opportunity to engage in more than twenty sports, including:

  • Hockey;
  • Lacrosse;
  • Tennis;
  • Swimming;
  • Fencing;
  • Dancing;
  • Skiing.

Traditionally, all students are involved in art classes: the institution has an orchestra, choir, vocal and instrumental music communities, theater and poetry circles.

There are also many clubs of interest: from photography, ceramics and textiles to business and environmental protection.

Every year, the educational institution organizes expeditions to different parts of the world - for example, to Morocco and Nicaragua. Additionally, girls can participate in charity projects that are implemented in India, Africa and South America.

To enroll in school, you must pass tests on logical thinking, English and mathematics, a personal interview with the director and take part in one of the extracurricular activities.

Entrance examinations are held in September, a year before the desired date of admission. For applicants older than 13 years, it is possible to pass tests for 2 years before enrollment.
