OSTI (branch) of OSU was established on May 27, 1998.

The learning process includes:

OGTI (branch) of OSU provides a dormitory.

For meals for students and staff, the Institute is equipped with 2 buffets and a dining room.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the OSU branch organizes and participates in the following events:

• City competitions "Youth of Orsk",
• City Forum of Youth Initiatives "RSM: Your Initiative",
• "Miss OGTI-2023",
• International Interuniversity Olympiad on Life Safety "Healthy Generation",

The process of education in the OSTI (branch) of OSU is carried out in 4 educational and administrative buildings. The buildings house classrooms, practical classrooms, laboratories and computer classes. The classrooms are equipped with laboratory equipment, laboratory glassware, visual teaching aids, models, stands for laboratory work, etc. Students are given free access to the library.

At OSTI (branch) of OSU, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

In the OSTI (branch) of OSU, the employment of graduates is facilitated by the Department of Social and Educational Work, faculties and graduating departments. More than 80% of graduates of OSU (branch) are employed in the first year after graduation.

For admission to undergraduate educational programs, an applicant must:

1. Completed education not lower than secondary general,
2. Passing entrance examinations. Minimum passing scores:

For admission to master's programs, you must:

1. Completed higher education,
2. Successful completion of the entrance exam in the specialty. The minimum passing score is 45.
