In 1984, the Faculty of Evening Education of the Orenburggazprom Vocational Educational Complex was opened. In 1999, the faculty was officially reorganized into the Branch of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) in Orenburg. Over the entire period of its operation, the branch has graduated more than 7000 oil and gas specialists.
