Gormanston College is a comprehensive secondary school for boys, founded by the Franciscan Catholic Order in 1954. It is conveniently located in the county of Meath, about 32 kilometers north of Dublin in the present Irish castle of Gormanston, built in 1789. In summer, the school becomes the venue for summer programs, sports, and language camps.

Gormanston Park offers ideal group accommodation for large, small groups in the northeastern part of Ireland, full of historical, cultural attractions. The castle - the main attraction of the school, offers groups the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of an old house, dine in a ceremonial dining room.

Rugby Training Camps - from € 1551/2 weeks

Gormanston Park offers rugby sports programs at the best training camp in Ireland: special equipment and grounds provide participants with an ideal opportunity to unite, train, relax and get to know the sights. In the evening, teams take part in events, can relax and take advantage of the school’s many opportunities: practice on the 18-hole golf course, play billiards, table tennis, watch TV in the game room. A meeting room with a projector and a screen allows the team to prepare for the games. The big advantage is the location of the camp in half an hour from the Aviva stadium, Croke Park, RDS in Ballsbridge - national and international rugby in Dublin.

Soccer Training Camps - from 1551 € / 2 weeks

Gormanston has repeatedly become a place of football training camps for clubs and teams of different levels, and local clubs use the school’s playgrounds to play outdoors and indoors throughout the year. Recreational activities after training allow students to acquire additional cultural experience: excursions, trips, rest in the billiard hall, on the golf course, in the recreation room for up to 50 people, and access to all sports and movie channels.

GAA Training Camps

The sports history of the Gormanston School is based on the traditions of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association): it is one of the first in the country where the GAA coaching courses were organized in the 1960s. The school has developed a package for teams of different levels, allowing teams to organize trainings on specially equipped grounds, develop team relations, visit local cultural zones and have fun at one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. The school has extensive experience in organizing weekends for teams, offering a balanced recreation program with trips to unique places in the surrounding area, activities (table tennis, billiards), relaxing activities on campus.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Gormanston Park offers comfortable accommodation in rooms with shared and private bathrooms. Each room has a double, single or bunk beds, each bed is equipped with storage space and a bedside lamp, its own sockets. Single and double rooms are complemented by desks, storage cabinets, all rooms have free Wi-Fi, electrical and television sockets. Bathrooms with new modern showers are located in each single, double and dormitory room.

The school offers a wide range of accommodation types:

The schedule of classes in the program includes a large number of educational and entertainment activities. On the territory of Gormanston Park, campers have access to a cafe and restaurant, walking through the gardens around the castle.

Outside of school, students attend unique sights in eastern Ireland:

  • Ancient east
  • Hill of tara
  • Newgrange and many other cultural and historical sites.

The amazing archaeological site of Brú na Bóinne is just a few minutes drive from the school. The unique landscape of Búinne Bóinne was formed by three famous large tombs - Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth, built about 5000 years ago in the Neolithic or Late Stone Age. Ninety more monuments were recorded in this area, which resulted in the emergence of one of the most significant archaeological sites in terms of scale, building density and physical evidence accompanying them. The burial grounds of Brú na Bóinne, in particular Knowth, contain the largest collection of megalithic art in Western Europe.

EPIC Ireland is an attractive new attraction in Dublin: it tells about the journey of the Irish diaspora around the world, how the Irish influenced world history, science and culture.
