Higher Education Program

ETC provides high school students with the opportunity to prepare for admission to their chosen university through two programs: University Pathway and Pearson BTEC. Both courses have several areas: business, computing, engineering. In each of the specializations, students will pass specialized disciplines, improve their knowledge of academic English and gain applied skills that can allow them to enter.

  1. The University Pathway program lasts 24 weeks and includes specialized preparation for the student's chosen specialty.
  2. Pearson BTEC programs lasting two years will help the student to master the curriculum in depth, including both academic disciplines and personal development seminars.

General English

The General English course offers a flexible language learning format. The program adapts to the academic needs of the student:

  • Standard: 15 hours and 20 lessons,
  • Intensive: 18 hours and 24 lessons,
  • Super intensive: 21 hours and 28 lessons,
  • Full immersion: 30 hours and 40 lessons.

The student chooses the intensity of classes, their number and theme. The course is based on five important aspects of the English language: speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.

The program is available to students with any initial language level: from beginners to advanced, has monthly start dates.

Exam Preparation Courses

Students have the opportunity to gain quality skills in the process of preparing for language exams: IELTS, B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE). Courses are flexible: they have several start dates and a duration that can be adjusted to the student.

Each program contains 15 hours and 20 lessons per week, in which students will solve tests, improve speaking skills and listening comprehension, train reading and writing, and expand vocabulary. At the end of their studies, students easily take the exam on the ETC campus (exam fees are not included in the course price).

Specialist Courses

The school has several strong language programs that improve the knowledge of specialists in different fields of activity - to choose from:

Each direction contains 22.5 hours of training per week - 30 lessons. Students attend classes with teachers who have many years of experience in both teaching and their chosen field. Improving vocabulary and conversational English skills is the main goal of each course.

Students graduating from specialist courses have excellent spoken English, which can provide them with opportunities to advance their careers.

Junior Program

  • Age - 14-15 years.

The program for teenagers is a general English course and includes accommodation in a comfortable residence or host family, a variety of activities and excursions. The Junior Program is ideal for foreign students who want to start studying in an English-speaking country.

The academic component of the program is English, 15 hours of lessons per week. Lessons are held in the morning under the guidance of experienced native teachers and are based on the development of basic skills: speaking, reading and writing, listening comprehension.

Outside of school hours, students will visit many attractions, entertainment and historical places. The experience of living in a host family or residence will help students feel like real researchers and brighten up their learning process.

Young Learners Program

  • Age - 16-17 years.

This course involves a more informal and free-flowing environment than the Junior Program.

The Young Learners Program is a study of general English, many excursions and activities on campus, accommodation in a residence or a host family. In the classroom, students will improve their speaking skills, train reading and writing, grammar and listening comprehension, and expand vocabulary. They immediately use the acquired skills outside the classroom: in the student living room, at an event, excursion or in transport.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Many foreign students from the age of 12 who come to study at ETC choose accommodation in the homes of host families. Students believe that this option will allow them to better learn the culture and customs of the locals, regularly practice spoken English. Family homes are within walking distance of the city center and the school campus. Residents are provided mainly with single rooms, meals are organized differently depending on the day of the week:

  • Weekdays: breakfasts and dinners,
  • Weekends: breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

If the child has any dietary requirements for food, family members will definitely take this into account. The cost of living in a host family is from 170 to 260 £ per week.

The student residence is ideal for students who want a more independent life. It is located next door to the campus and can accommodate up to 60 people. Residents are accommodated in rooms with private bathrooms and use common areas: a living room with a TV and a game console, a self-study class, a laundry room. Free Wi-Fi access is available on site, and cleaning and linen change takes place weekly.

Accommodation in the residence will cost 130-250 £ per week. For an additional fee, you can include breakfast (+ £ 49), breakfast and dinner (+ £ 112) or diet meals (+ £ 132) in the accommodation package.

Activities ETC International College

Every week, employees conduct a free program of activities, including sports competitions and football, volleyball, badminton and basketball. This is just one of the areas of thematic events that students can attend.

On a regular basis, the school organizes tourist trips around the UK: students will be able to visit the Jurassic Coast, London, Oxford, Bath and many other places.

The city of Bournemouth offers a variety of entertainment: historical, traditional, modern:

  • A hundred-year-old tradition of lighting candles,
  • Night of fireworks,
  • Seasonal markets, souvenir shops,
  • Ferry crossings to Brownsea Island,
  • Excursions to local gardens.

  • English exams range from £130 to £235.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Some courses have an age requirement: from 14 or 16 years old at the time of admission.

  • All foreign students must provide personal documents: birth certificate / passport and passport, health insurance and vaccination card, visa or residence permit,
  • Certificate of English proficiency: the required level depends on the program,
  • Academic documents (for adult students): reports on previous education, letters of recommendation.
