The Bournemouth School of English is one of the most versatile language centres in the UK. Combining traditional pedagogical methods and modern teaching materials, manuals, they offer English language courses for students of any age, of any initial level of knowledge. In addition to general English improving programs, there is an opportunity to prepare for a variety of language tests (BULATS, IELTS, Cambridge). Thanks to the initial testing and group distributions, each student studies in the class that is most suitable for him, where he learns comfortably and effectively.

Programs can be individually adapted to each student, because no two students are identical. Abilities, interests and language needs help to create a personalized course that guarantees rapid and sustainable progress. Part-time or full-time employment – there are opportunities for every student.

Since The Bournemouth School of English is small, teachers can form small groups for classes and give each of them personal attention. The ratio of teachers to students is 1: 4, classes are usually 8 people. You will feel comfortable, develop in a friendly, calm, friendly environment.

Standard English Course – General English

A universal English course is the most popular option. You can personalise the programme by choosing the intensity and duration of your studies: the most popular options range from 15 (this is the minimum if you want to get a study visa to the UK) to 30 hours of classes weekly.

Students from EU/EUA have the opportunity to take courses with partial attendance (full-time) - 6+ hours weekly.

All major language skills are developed comprehensively:

  • Reading, vocabulary
  • Oral speech (pronunciation, accent, fluency)
  • Written language, literacy
  • Listening (listening comprehension).

The course can be supplemented with various useful options:

Discussion & Debate

A lot of language practice will help you gain fluency in any situation. Different topics of conversation are dealt with, students are trained to express and defend their point of view depending on different contexts.

Speaking & Pronunciation

A class of active language practice for those who need to improve pronunciation, get rid of the accent and increase fluency, expand vocabulary.

English in Use

Focus on grammar: analysis of different grammatical constructions, language structures with examples from real life situations.

Language for Work

Special course for students who need English to advance their careers: specialized topics (for example, how to create a resume (CV), pass an interview and interview, work with clients and customers) and expand the stock of thematic vocabulary.

Language for Life

Improving reading and listening skills with relevant, up-to-date materials, including the writings of well-known writers and TV programs.

Exam Skills

Summer Camp – Celc Summer School

  • Dates: July-August
  • Age: 13-16 years
  • Intensity: 20+ lessons per week
  • Classes up to 14 people
  • Diploma of participation at the end of the program.

The program from 2022 is held in the summer residence of the school Moorlands College. 2.5 km from Christchurch, the area of the New Forest National Park, proximity to beaches, forest paths and lively Bournemouth is the best place to spend the summer!

This is a seasonal English course where children and teenagers will learn the language in its natural environment, chatting with new friends, going on excursions and having fun at general activities.

The ratio of teachers to students is 1:14, all children are under supervision 24/7, medical personnel and first aid service are on duty.

Lessons are structured thematically so that students practice English in different situations: 3 hour classes in the morning and afternoon project sessions, which develop leadership skills, teamwork, initiative. Only 20+ lessons weekly.

Celc Summer School participants are accommodated in a summer residence in double rooms under round-the-clock supervision, with boarding meals (continental, English and American cuisine + barbecue + packaged lunches for all excursions).

For them, a full-fledged, interesting, diverse program of leisure, entertainment and extracurricular activities is organized. After lunch, you can participate in project tasks, in the evening cheerful holidays, competitions, parties are organized on the territory. Dance master classes (ballet, modern choreography), football training, you can go swimming, art and creativity, organize a fashion show or a culinary duel, play basketball, volleyball, floorball, table tennis. There are movie evenings, workout training, "Open Microphone" and karaoke, evenings by the fire. Dinner Dance is always fun – a Friday party that is planned for the end of 2 or 4 weeks of stay: non-alcoholic cocktails, an award ceremony, watching video diaries of the camp, a gala dinner with elegant dresses and costumes.

For every 2 weeks of stay, 5 excursions are planned. It can be a trip to London, Oxford, Bath, Christchurch, Bournemouth, Gunwharf Quay Shopping Village (a huge outlet), The Thorpe Park amusement park, the amazing Natural Arch Durdle Door.

The price includes a transfer to and from the airport, transport for all excursions with licensed drivers.

  • July 2 = for 4 weeks.

The summer school runs until July 30.

The fastest way to learn English effectively and simply! This is an opportunity to adjust the training program as much as possible to your personal interests and needs, especially if you have a little time - all classes will be aimed at those aspects that are most important to you.

Individual lessons are suitable for everyone: beginners who are just starting to learn English, professionals and businessmen who need to place special emphasis on vocabulary and oral speech, students with academic needs who plan to study abroad.

Individual lessons can be either as a separate program or combined with any other course at the Bournemouth School of English. 1 lesson = 1 hour, you can study with a teacher alone or with another.

A long course that perfectly prepares you for further study abroad. An academic year at the Bournemouth School of English will significantly raise your level of English (to the standard you need to study), adapt to the new academic, linguistic and cultural environment, give you the opportunity to get used to the British education system and feel like a real English student.

That's 36 weeks of classes of 20 lessons weekly. Morning 3 hours is a universal General English course, adapted to your starting level. After lunch, you can take time for additional directions or options (see the General English program), add individual lessons.

During the program, you can organize a vacation of 4 weeks: it is recommended to take a two-week break after every 12 weeks of lessons.

The Learning & Leisure program combines the study of English and acquaintance with the main cities and attractions of England.

Standard Language Course, 20 lessons per week: This is a universal General English program that you can supplement with various useful options at your discretion (and change them at any time).

For each week, 1 full-day excursion is planned (usually London, Oxford, Bath and other interesting cities and attractions). Course participants are provided with unlimited public transport passes.

Preparation for language exams

An intensive academic course will help you effectively prepare for the chosen language exam – and pass it with high scores, regardless of your initial level of knowledge! The program works year-round, can be combined with the general course of General Engllish.

Students of Bournemouth School of English are offered two accommodation options.

Host family

This is a great opportunity to practice English outside the classroom with its direct speakers! The option is available all year round.

Residence

A private room in a shared residence near the city center is an option for independent, freedom-loving students who want to find new friends and at the same time are ready to take care of themselves. There are options for rooms with and without bathrooms (shared bathrooms on the floor).

If desired, the school will help you choose a third-party residence, hotel, hostel, apartment or room for rent.

The school is ideally located in the centre of Bournemouth, a safe, famous and vibrant city in the south of England. 11 well-equipped classrooms provide a pleasant and efficient learning experience: grades 1-5 are located in the main building, 6-11 in the newly built new building. Comfortable furniture, blackboards, equipment – everything is ready for practical activities.

There are cozy living rooms for relaxation, where coffee machines, upholstered furniture, widescreen TV, PC with network connection are located. Internet access is available throughout the campus (unlimited WiFi), in three computer labs. Vending machines with snacks and drinks, sweets are installed
