King's College in Bournemouth is located in a quiet area of ​​the city center. In walking distance there is tourist, business, commercial infrastructure. King's Bournemouth College is proud of its picturesque territory. The buildings of the school are surrounded by a park zone with green lawns, a garden. 

In the college all conditions are created for comfortable and effective studying. Year-round Study Tours

Introductory tours are perfect for groups of international students who want to combine the improvement of their English language skills with the study of the culture and sights of England.

The program runs throughout the year, with the exception of summer holidays. Children can visit England and the college campus with a tour of any duration. During each week, students will be provided with:

  • 15 hours of English lessons in groups of up to 15 people,
  • Accommodation in double rooms in the houses of host families,
  • Full board meals,
  • Three half-day trips with sightseeing,
  • A full-day trip to London with a river cruise, a walking tour and free time for a walk,
  • Activities on campus every evening: pizza and barbecue parties on the beach, movie nights and karaoke.

Upon arrival, students are given a welcome tour of the campus and its surroundings, an English language proficiency placement test and study materials. Upon completion of the training, students receive a certificate of completion containing information about the progress of knowledge and language skills.

The cost of the course consists of the duration of stay on campus and accommodation, cultural events and trips. The weekly price of accommodation in a host family ranges from 250 to 270 £, the price of excursions is from 17 to 79 £.

GCSE (GCSE Preparation)

  • Age - from 14 years,
  • The term of study is one or two years,
  • Start dates are once a year in September.

The GCSE preparation program helps students who wish to continue their education in English-speaking countries and pass one of the most important school exams. It is offered in two durations: one or two years - intensive and standard, respectively.

  • The intensive course is suitable for students who are already familiar with the educational system of England and have a solid academic base, as well as those who have completed 9 classes. Students will explore five subjects throughout the year,
  • The standard format will perfectly orient students who have graduated from 8 grades, and will provide competitive knowledge both in academic disciplines and in English. Within two years, 9 subjects will be studied.

For foreign students, the format of extended education in 9 subjects is also offered, which includes from 4 to 7 semesters of 40-42 lessons per week. English will be taught more intensively than in other program options, and teachers will pay special attention to the academic abilities of each student.

All GCSE preparation programs contain English classes and the study of disciplines for their delivery. The general list of subjects includes:

A-Level (Preparation for A-Level)

  • Age - from 16 years,
  • The term of study is one or two years,

The A-Level course in preparation for the final exam specializes in practicing and improving knowledge in the disciplines chosen for admission to the university. The program is offered in three formats:

  • Intensive one-year course – suitable for those who transfer from the 11th grade of another school or have completed an equivalent program. Students will attend 9 one-hour lessons per week in each of their chosen subjects,
  • A standard two-year course is suitable for students who have completed 10 school classes. The curriculum includes 7 one-hour lessons in each of the disciplines,
  • The extended version is ideal for international students who have completed 10 classes and have weak knowledge of the English language for passing the exam. Training lasts for 7-10 semesters, the weekly load includes 20-25 hours of classes. In an exception format, students of 15 years old can enroll in this course.

A-Level provides for the study of three or four subjects and their subsequent delivery. A student can collect any combination of disciplines that meets his academic goals:

Students wishing to pursue their academic education in the medical pathway have a choice of two training options:

The second option includes a year of research in natural and mathematical sciences: 21 hours of classes per week with qualified teachers, individual meetings with teachers and a large amount of work for self-study. In parallel with the improvement of knowledge in the disciplines, students are provided with a course for the development of spoken English skills.

English Preparation: IELTS (IELTS Preparation Course )

  • The duration of training is up to 23 weeks,
  • The start dates are January, April, July, and September.

The English language improvement course is suitable for students with an IELTS level of 3.5 to 5.0. The program has several options:

  • Intensive training,
  • Super-intensive training,
  • Standard pace of learning.

The differences between the formats lies in the number of hours of instruction, students in class, and homework. The better the initial skills of the student, the more intensively he can learn.

The basis of the program is the development of communication skills: listening comprehension of the language and the ability to speak it. Students improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, replenish vocabulary by reading books, watching movies, discussing personal interests with teachers and classmates.

At the end of the training, each student gets the opportunity to take the IELTS exam (for an additional fee).

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students at King's College Bournemouth are offered accommodation in the family, residences, student suites. Host families offer 1-2-bed rooms, half board (two meals).

The student residence offers modern accommodation in excellent conditions. The school owns several housing units. The year-round King's Beach Residence resembles a small cozy hotel, providing accommodation for students over 18 years old. The building is located within walking distance from the beach. The school is 15 minutes walk from here. In the residence there are single and double rooms. All of them are equipped with a bathroom, shower, furniture, TVs. Half board is offered in the residence.

King's Town Center Residence is also opened all year round. It offers 1-2-bed rooms with private facilities. Accommodation is available to students from 18 years old and older. The residence is located 10 minutes walk from the school and the beach. Accommodation is offered without meals. For self-catering in the residence there is an equipped kitchen.

Year-round King's Charminster Residence accepts students over 16 years old. Only students of the language school live here. It is a 15-minute walk from the main building of King's College Bournemouth. The residence provides 1-2-bed rooms with amenities, furniture, appliances. Meals are organized on the half board basis.

Independent students can live in a summer single room apartment. Students are provided with a separate room and a private shower. The kitchen is in common use. Meals are organized on a half-board or self-service basis.
