Initially, Ellesmere College (England School of Ellesmere College with Football Academy) was founded as a school for boys (in 1884 it was opened under the auspices of the Anglican Church). Today it is a secular school of mixed education that provides effective and balanced educational programs for students of 7-18 years: the relationship with the Anglican church is still warm and close, but the children of any confession and religion are accepted for the boarding school.

Students board meals, three meals a large common living room for this purpose. On a preliminary request, a diet or vegetarian diet, dishes suitable for medical (allergy) or religious prescriptions can be organized.

A nurse is constantly present on campus, and three times a week a professional doctor from the nearest clinic is on duty at the school.
