Description of Haverford Summer Camp

  • Age of the pupils: 10-18 years
  • Duration of the programs: 2-4 weeks (arrivals on Saturdays (except July 2), departures on Sundays)
  • Dates: 2 -29 July (for students with an initial level of the English start date - 2 and 15 July).

The Haverford College Private College (Haverford), which operates the summer camp of Haverford, was founded in 1833 and is today considered one of the best profile universities in the country (Forbes, data for 2011). The Haverford Campus is located in Philadelphia (Haverford), roughly halfway between Washington and New York - up to the spacious, sandy beaches of New Jersey can be reached in just an hour.

The school fully guarantees the safety and comfort of children: the ratio of staff to pupils is 1: 4, the entire territory is under 24-hour protection, and all students are under the constant supervision of teachers and educators. Strictly prohibited smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, and in the classroom you can not use a mobile phone.

Before the beginning of the classes, all children undergo an introductory testing to the level of knowledge, and at the end of the training each student of Lines Haverford receives a firm certificate indicating the level reached, a full report from the teacher (with recommendations for further training) and a memorable photo.

For students of summer courses there are academic classes with an intensity of 24 lessons per week (1 lesson = 45 minutes). All children before the beginning of the training pass the introductory testing, which determines their level of initial training, and are divided into groups according to age: Juniors (10-14 years) and Seniors (15-18 years). In one class is engaged in 7-10 people.

In addition to the curriculum, a rich and varied out-of-class entertainment, leisure, sport and excursion program is being developed for students. For example, on Wednesdays Juniors go to the movies, and on Sundays they leave for Philadelphia with the Seniors.

For students who want to practice sports or art on a professional level, a special Pro Sport program has been prepared - students themselves can choose the priority activity option:

  • Pro-Tennis
  • Pro-Golf
  • Pro-Basket
  • Pro-WeLlness (stretching and general revitalizing fitness, massage, aerobics and SPA)
  • Pro Photography (Digital Photography)
  • Pro Fashion (fashion, creativity and design).

All Pro-programs are designed for 8 additional lessons each week (1 lesson = 45 minutes).

The timing of the shifts in the summer camp is as follows:

  • 2 weeks = arrivals on 2, 8, 15 July
  • 3 weeks = check in July 8
  • 4 weeks = check-in on 2 July.

The cost of staying in the summer camp of Lynes Haverford (for 1 person) is:

Accommodation, meals, prices

For students of summer courses Haverford prepared a cozy comfortable residence (single bedrooms, shared bathrooms): boys and girls live separately, and the resettlement takes into account the age principle. A laundry service is available (weekly), linens are changed every week (kits are provided by the school).

Meals are organized according to the full boarding system: three times a day children enjoy delicious hot dishes, soups and salads, a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits are served. Additionally during the day, students at Haverford are offered light snacks, fruit snacks, soft drinks and clean drinking water. On the preliminary application it is possible to organize a special diet (features of a medical, religious or national diet).

Activities Haverford Summer Camp

Interesting leisure and recreational activities are organized daily for students of Haverford. Much attention is paid to sports (volleyball, cricket, badminton, swimming, mountain biking, football, tennis, squash), numerous creative studios and craft workshops are open.

A special Pro Sport program has been prepared for pupils who want to practice sports or art on a professional level. Students can choose the priority activity:

Administrators and educators of Haverford do not forget about excursions - twice a week children go to Philadelphia, New York, Washington, examine the most interesting cultural, historical and architectural attractions (all entrance fees are already included in the price).

The Haverford campus has everything you need for students to stay - for study, recreation, living, sports and outdoor activities. Equipped with tennis courts and its own spacious pool, tracks for running and track and field, fields for cricket and baseball, training fields for golf.
