How are the top UK boarding schools ranked, and how accurate are these rankings today?

Typically, these rankings are based on GCSE and A-level exam results. With the growing number of IB schools in the UKIB results are also gaining significance. Rankings mainly assess the number of candidates and their outcomes, so they're accurate in that sense. However, they don't necessarily reflect the quality of teaching and learning. Some elite schools have very stringent admission criteria, not accessible to all.

Review about Buckswood School

Helena
(26.11.2021)
My son is in his first year of school. Buckswood was recommended by my husband's in-laws. Their 2 children graduated from school in 2019 and continued their studies in America. If we talk about the services of the Smaps company itself, then they enroll for free, they do not "steam" from the threshold, I also liked that at the consultation they listened to us in detail, asked why they chose this particular school and offered to also consider several more options. Still settled on Buckswood, the company organized an online meeting and tour of the school, because due to the pandemic we could not go to see the school in person. Special thanks to the visa specialist Ksenia. The visa had to be done in a short time for us (parents) and the child. With an additional payment for expedited consideration, visas were considered in 4 days.

Alexander K.
(Buckswood school review)

The school is small: teachers and students know each other. Even if you graduated from the course, the teacher will ask if everything is alright with you, if you need help with studies, so the support is excellent.

Two big advantages are the location (on the coast, almost in the resort town) and a strong emphasis on sport: there are so-called Academies here, where you can choose from football to golf, so children can practice on a semi-professional level. Of course, the most popular academies are summer, but throughout the year you can work with excellent coaches, and the territory allows you to do it. Everything you need is located there, and you don’t need to go to any stadiums.

We are learning for the second year (son 14), everyone is happy. Studying here is equal with high school, so most likely we will be preparing for the university here, at Buckswood, the level is more than satisfactory.

Sergey V.
(Father of Nikita, a student of 16 years old)

We chose the program IB  in the private school Buckswood: we plan to sent Nikita study in a foreign university, but we have not yet decided which country. We lean toward Switzerland, since business schools there are best in the world. SMAPSE specialists in this case advised to choose the IB course, because it is accepted in all countries of the world.

The program is rather complicated, all subjects are studied in depth. The son chose foreign languages and economy. At first he complained about a huge number of homework assignments, but then he got used to it, and now he's one of the best in the class. We believe that such academic success is good.

The Buckswood campus is beautiful, children have everything necessary for studying. In his spare time, Nikita plays football, mastered tennis and golf. You can take individual lessons, do more professionally.  Nikita feels very comfortable: the school accepts a lot of foreign students, so there is no language barrier. Teachers treat everyone with equal care, do not distinguish between strong and weak. In general, the atmosphere is very warm, friendly, almost family: the director knows all students by name, is always ready to talk and help with friendly advice. Also, he sent a lot of photos from the hostel. I'm also confident in the safety of my son, keep in touch with the administration, receive full reports on his progress.

I'm really happy chosen the Buckswood school, and worked with Smapse! After entering the university, we turn to them - it's true, most likely, it will not be a British university, so we will choose.
