Bootham School is a British private boarding school, where students from 11 to 18 years of age are admitted. It was founded in 1823 as a Quaker school for boys, and today it is a co-educational institution for students of all faiths.
This is the first school in Britain where the science community was founded. In 1850, its own observatory was also opened here - one of the few throughout the country.
According to the ranking of British private institutions with the highest results of passing A-level school is in the top ten. The Bootham School also has high rates of student preparation for math and science. For high school students, career guidance events are held here with attendance of master classes and lectures at various universities or on the school’s territory itself.

Accommodation, meals, prices
To accommodate students on the campus of Bootham School, several residences are offered: the girls live in the residential complex of Rowntree House, which includes three buildings located in the center of the campus. Pupils younger live in furnished rooms for several people, and high school students - in apartments with separate kitchen and bathroom.
The boys live in the Fox House complex: these are four historic buildings of the Georgian era, completely renovated in 2009. High school students are accommodated in the Evelyn House residence, which is located next to the school’s campus and at the same time a few minutes from the historic center of the city.
Catering for students is organized in the campus dining room at the highest level. On Saturdays, parents can join the school meal and personally evaluate the menu.
