Private School Rydal Penrhos School was founded in 1885 on the shores of the Irish Sea in North Wales, just 1-1.5 hours from Manchester. The school was established on the basis of two schools: the men's boarding school Methodist school and the female pension Penrhos College - today the Rydal Penrhos School is fully working through a system of mixed education, taking children from 11 to 18 years.

Academic results of students and graduates clearly demonstrate the excellent level of preparation, balance and effectiveness of training programs:

  • GCSE: 91% of students successfully passed the exam, 93% of them passed more than 5 subjects, and 47% achieved the highest score of A * -A;

Quick overview: The two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) program is another Sixth Form, whose results are accepted and highly rated around the world. The course is designed for international students 16-18 years.

About the educational course: For the personal curriculum, 6 top-priority subjects and areas of knowledge are selected: 3 of them are studied at the standard level, and 3 - on a more complex, in-depth, almost university. Additionally, all students without exception attend general theory of knowledge (CTC, often called "practical philosophy") course CAS (Creativity, Service, Activity) and prepare a personal research project (the volume of 4000 words, the topic is chosen independently and is consistent with the teacher ).

The academic year at school is divided into traditional trimester for the UK.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students-boarders are offered places in cozy, comfortable residences directly on the territory of the school (6 houses). Basically rooms are designed for 3-4 people, high school students (Sixth Form students) are accommodated in the bedrooms for 1-2 people. With the children in the residences, there are always curators and educators: they provide security for schoolchildren around the clock, monitor the observance of order, discipline and cleanliness, help students solve administrative and everyday issues.

Boarding (three meals a day) is organized in a spacious common dining room. Every day, students are offered a wide choice of mouth-watering, tasty and healthy dishes, fresh pastries and salads (there is a vegetarian table, the ration according to medical prescriptions is also organized on request).

A medical center with qualified nurses and therapists is working 24 hours a day.
