The Free University of Brussels or Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is a non-profit public educational institution located in the capital of Belgium - Brussels. The university was founded in 1971 on the basis of the French-speaking Free University of Brussels (which was founded in 1834 by a lawyer of Flemish origin, Pierre-Theodore Verhagen).
Vrije Universiteit Brussel is currently ranked 4th on the list of the best universities in Belgium, and 199th in the international ranking. The reputation of the educational institution among employers is quite high, which helps graduates to successfully find a job after graduation.
