Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
To study the bachelor's program, the entrant must provide a certificate of graduation. Applicants to the magistracy and graduate school must provide the admission committee with diplomas on the completion of the educational institution (respectively: bachelor or master). These documents must be translated into one of the following languages:
- English;
- French;
- Dutch;
- German.
All documents must be notarized.
Students can study in Dutch or English. In the first case it is necessary to take exams at the university. If the student chooses the program in English, then it will be required to provide international IELTS certificates with a result of 6.5 or TOEFL with a score of at least 79.
The timing of applications for training varies depending on the language of instruction. For applicants of programs in the Dutch language - the deadline for submission of documents is 1 February, in English - on 1 March.
Tuition and scholarships
Getting an education in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven is free of charge. All students a year pay a required contribution of € 550, and students in the natural sciences and science programs additionally contribute about € 1,500. About € 4,000 will cost accommodation in the student hostel. Also, the university has a housing department that helps students find a house or apartment outside the campus.
This university does not have its scholarship program, but it actively cooperates with many foundations, including the Coimbra Scholarship Fund, Erasmus Mundus and the foundations of the Flanders region. Grant sizes vary, but it is known that the maximum student can expect € 10,000.
