The Volga Research Medical University was founded in 1920 and for a long time had the status of an institute: during the years of World War II front-line doctors were trained here, much attention was paid to the training of surgeons. From the first day, the university was constantly evolving and soon received the status of the Academy, and in 2018 it became a university.
