Review about University of Birmingham

Mark
(13.04.2022)
I am a journalism student at the University of Birmingham. The first thing that I want to note when talking about this university is its size and outstanding campus architecture! The university is surrounded by parks, gardens, a very green and peaceful place. Speaking about training, as such, I would like to note the high qualification of teachers, their charisma and ability to convey the material in an interesting and memorable form. In addition to formal training, our teachers always listened with great pleasure to our opinion and loved to discuss various topics. There was always a very lively and warm communication.

My son graduated from this university a year ago. Both he and we had a pleasant impression of the university. We visited the campus several times and visited it at the residence. I really liked the location of the university, a comfortable environment conducive to learning. There were no problems with studying either, and we always recommended this university with a clear conscience, in particular the Faculty of Art History, where my son studied. However, recently we heard from friends whose child was admitted there on our recommendation that distance learning is organized out of hand badly. There are no lectures, the material was not really taught in an online format. I think the administration just couldn't get the process right because it happened quickly and nobody was ready for it. But still it was unpleasant to hear this about my native university.

My daughter is in her second year at the University of Birmingham. They came after a private school in England. They went to this university for an open day when she was in Year 12. Then I liked everything: the location, the campus itself, the conditions in the residences that we were shown. We decided to apply to this university, and, in the end, we chose it. As for studying, everything that concerns full-time classes is given at a good level. But for a while, my daughter had to study online (because of Covid), and she constantly complained that classes were eternally canceled, and it was impossible to contact anyone. I also wrote several letters to the university, but only received a padding, the staff did not respond to me. Now everything has returned to its course, classes are held "live", there are no problems. The business programs at the university are really strong.

He passed the Foundation preparatory program at this university. The university chose on the recommendation of the Smapse agency, which selected program options for me. I chose this option almost immediately. I liked the location, the campus, well, and good positions in the ratings. The preparatory program itself was, it seems to me, standard: there was mainly academic English, + several other disciplines. In general, I have no questions about the program. The only annoying thing was that some teachers had to wait about a week for a response to the mail. I would like to get faster communication. He decided to enroll in London for the main undergraduate program. The university itself suited me, but I did not want to stay in Birmingham for another 3 years =)
