Universidad Europea de Canarias (UEC) is a private university that is part of one of Spain's leading institutions, the European University, which also has campuses in Valencia and Madrid.

UEC welcomed its first students in 2012, offering five undergraduate programs and three master's majors. Currently, students wishing to obtain a bachelor's degree can choose a direction from 13 programs, and 19 professional courses are available to future masters. Students are offered quality education in the fields of social, sports and humanities, business, marketing and others.

Educational process

The European University has a virtual platform for learning online courses. Students who choose distance education get access to their personal account: lectures, tests, chats with teachers and classmates, educational materials.

The virtual format of obtaining a degree allows students from all over the world to gain applied knowledge and skills while staying at home.

  • The duration of training is from 9 months.

Students can complete the following programs in full-time or online format:

  • E-commerce and digital marketing,
  • Management and Management in Nursing,
  • Training and sports rehabilitation,
  • Sports physiotherapy,
  • Neurological physiotherapy,
  • Teaching secondary education and undergraduate degrees.

Programs available only on campus:

  • Architecture
  • Invasive physiotherapy of musculoskeletal dysfunctions,
  • General Health Psychology,
  • Orthopedic manual therapy,
  • Emergencies, intensive care.

Most of the programs are taught exclusively in English, while the course "Architecture" is available in a bilingual version: English and Spanish.

Accommodation, meals, prices

UEC does not have residential residences, however, it provides assistance in finding housing in Tenerife. Thanks to cooperation, students can be accommodated in the apartments Residencia Jandro and Residencia Agustin de Betancourt: a monthly stay will cost 500-900 €, depending on the number of bedrooms in the apartment, distance from the city center and equipment.

The Canary Islands are a combination of active leisure and relaxation: from water sports and nightclubs to leisurely walks along the coast and exploring natural beauties.

Students can find exciting activities off campus, as well as stay at the university to participate in the activities of clubs: psychological or tennis. Each club is created and managed by students, presents their projects and participates in competitions, allows participants to receive scholarships and achieve success that will affect the beginning of their career path.

Facilities and equipment at Universidad Europea de Canarias, European University in the Canary Islands

The university is located in Tenerife on two campuses: the main La Orotava and the small Santa Cruz. Both educational areas have modern equipment for classrooms and specialized laboratories. The campuses have recreation and self-study areas, a large library with a reading room, bicycle parking lots, and landscaped courtyards where students socialize and dine.

Specialized laboratories are one of the features of UEC - thanks to them, students can gain applied knowledge in "real" medical offices, simulation classes equipped with the necessary equipment for practice. Laboratories in other areas, such as marketing and advertising, include computers with a set of programs with which students will gain experience in creating and managing projects. Architectural classrooms are equipped with materials, working with which will teach students to design, calculate and measure the necessary conditions for the implementation of real projects.

Admission dates and extra charges

The school year lasts from early autumn to mid-summer. Bachelors begin their studies in September, masters in October. Rest is provided on Saturdays and Sundays, on the dates of international and national holidays.

  • Entrance examinations for the program "Nursing" - 65 €,
  • Registration fee – 495 €,
  • Accommodation - 500-900 € per month,
  • Public transport: transport card for a month – 15 €,
  • Telephone and Internet - from 20 to 50 € per month,
  • Utility bills - from 90 € depending on the season,
  • Meals: visiting shops, cafes - from 120 € per month.

Enrolment process

All applicants go through several registration stages:

  • Filling out an online form and submitting the required documents,
  • Payment of the registration fee,
  • Receiving an invitation to entrance examinations,
  • Passing tests on campus,
  • Enrollment and commencement of education.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Requirements for foreigners entering undergraduate programs:

  • Personal documents: passport, visa or residence permit, health insurance,
  • Certificate of completion of complete secondary education with a transcript,
  • Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL (from 80) or IELTS (from 6.0),
  • Individual achievements: certificates, diplomas, medals, if any.

Future masters must provide:

  • Personal documents: passport, visa or residence permit, health insurance,
  • Bachelor's degree in a similar direction to the chosen program, evaluation transcript,
  • Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL (from 90) or IELTS (from 6.5),
  • Individual achievements: recommendations, certificates, work experience, if any.

Scholarships Universidad Europea de Canarias, European University in the Canary Islands

Scholarships are awarded to students who are successful in their studies and extracurricular activities. Some awards act as a percentage that covers the cost of the program, while others act as an amount that is allocated to the student once a month or year.

Some of the scholarships are:

  • Erasmus for foreign students – up to 300 € per month,
  • High rates of academic achievement - 50% on tuition fees,
  • Average academic performance - up to 3000 € for first-year students,
  • A 40% discount for those who continue their education at UEC,
  • Discount for a relative of an already enrolled student – 5%,
  • ASISA Foundation Award for the best undergraduate students – 7000 € or an exchange week at Harvard University,
  • Financing from CaixaBank – up to 100% coverage of tuition fees.

Recommendations on when to apply
