Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto (Residential and Homestay) offers summer programs for children from 12 to 18 years old. Within a few weeks, they will study on the campus of one of the leading and prestigious universities in Toronto, live in a residence or host family, attend a variety of excursions and get an unforgettable experience of living in an English-speaking country.

English Course

  • Age - from 12 to 18 years,
  • The duration of training is 1-7 weeks.

The English language program is suitable for students from 12 to 18 years old with any initial level of linguistics: from Elementary to Proficiency. The course can also be adapted to a lower level if a group of 15 people is recruited.

The weekly schedule includes 15 classroom lessons and several individual lessons as needed, half-day and full-day excursions, on-campus activities. The two-week program includes two field trips and up to 10 for several hours, where students will be able to explore the environment of Canada, its natural beauty and attractions, and the culture of local residents.

In addition, students can add to their course the preparation and completion of IELTS tests, which are organized at the center of the Oxford International Language School.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The residence of the university is a multi-room apartment with shared toilets and bathrooms; Single rooms with private bathrooms are available at an additional cost. Meals in the residence are organized according to the schedule:

  • Breakfast: 07:30-09:00 Hot dishes in several versions, drinks, buns and sweets,
  • Lunch: 11:30-13:30 Several options for soups, main courses and drinks,
  • Dinner: 17:30-19:00 Dishes of meat, cereals, vegetables.

The residence has a laundry room with washing machines and dryers, they are available daily for an additional fee.

The institution provides an alternative and for many more interesting accommodation option – accommodation with a host family. Local residents, who are regularly checked by school staff, will provide the student with a place in a single or double room, three meals a day: breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners. Homestay accommodation will help the student learn about the culture of Canada and regularly practice language skills.

The program of any duration necessarily includes a number of excursions in which students will gain new knowledge and emotions. Among them:

  • Short walks to the main attractions of Toronto: Dundas Square, Eton Centre, City Hall and others,

Summer programs are taught on the university campus of Toronto Metropolitan University. Bright classrooms, recreation areas with smart TVs, and walking areas on the territory have been prepared for students. The Ryerson Recreation and Athletics Center (PAC) is also open to summer students, offering them gyms for group and individual eduaction. At the International Center for Life and Learning (ILC), which operates as a residence, A shared kitchen, living room and laundry room have been prepared, on the ground floor there is a dining room and a lounge area.

Before applying, you should take care of the documents: the duration of the passport, the availability of a visa and medical insurance. When undergoing the procedure, it is necessary to tell the commission officer about the child's peculiarities in learning, living, eating or other aspects of life.

The school can refuse an applicant only if the vacant places on the course are over. On average, up to 160 people are recruited for a two-week program.

The certificate issued to graduates of the language course will help students prove their knowledge of English when entering a school, college or university, sometimes to avoid additional entrance tests.
