Description of Village Camps St. Michael's Summer Kids Camp

St. Michael's City Residential Campus is located on the base of Toronto City Camp, in a picturesque and historically interesting area of ​​the city. During the summer months (especially in July and August), the city hosts a large number of national events, festivals in which summer students can take part. This is an unforgettable experience of interaction with the inhabitants of Canada, a great way to learn more about the traditions and culture of this country.

All classes are conducted by qualified teachers who have extensive experience working with foreign students. Innovative, effective modern methods are constantly being introduced into studying. In one educational group, up to 15 students are studied. Such a fullness of the studying groups makes it possible to implement an individual approach, give each student maximum attention, closely monitor his progress and educational, language progress. All pupils are divided into differentiated groups according to the level of knowledge and language proficiency, which further intensifies the learning process. Every day students stay in the Village of Stamps Michael's is divided into three blocks. Studying process includes morning academic studies, daytime employment and sports games and evening leisure activities.

A summer program for students at Village Camps St. Michael's harmoniously combines academic studies, competently thought out and structured  course ("English as a second language"), ample opportunities for sports, active leisure, a variety of evening activities and cognitive exciting excursions. In the classroom, students develop all the main language skills comprehensively, paying special attention to the development of communicative and verbal abilities, they also constantly conduct auditions, practice literate written speech, read and understand English texts. The curricula is very carefully written, taking into account all the needs and abilities of the students, the latest effective teaching methods are being introduced. Every week, pupils attend 20 classes - this average intensity allows to learn English in a productive way, and to give time to leisure and entertainment.

Accommodation, meals, prices

All students live in the common comfortable residence Village Сamps St. Michael's, bedrooms which are designed for 1-2 people, fully equipped with all the necessary furniture and appliances. Clean and functional bathrooms and amenities are located on each floor and are available in common use. Students are placed according to the age and gender principle, the boys and girls live separately. Also in the residence there are laundry services, there are cozy common living rooms for rest and Internet cafes in walking distance.

Meals are organized on a full board basis: three times a day the students gather in a spacious and comfortable school cafeteria. The food is balanced and varied, a wide variety of dishes is offered, and the portion size can be unlimited.

The program of extra-curricular activities is very diverse and interesting: many activities are aimed at acquainting foreign students with the culture and history of Canada. Also, all games and shows are arranged in such a way that students communicate as much as possible with each other, tpracticing communicative skills and acquired knowledge in a relaxed and comfortable environment, intensively expanding the vocabulary. Language practice does not stop with the end of the lessons - it is possible to achieve especially effective results in free communication with native speakers, Canadians, representatives of other countries, cultures and nationalities. Evening activities can be held as in Village Сamps St. Michael's, and beyond - pupils can watch national holidays and festivals, a large number of which are concentrated in the summer, and participate in it.

Trinity University students are allowed a sufficient degree of freedom and mobility: they can organize their own leisure time, travel to Toronto and beyond the campus, after having necessarily warned their mentor or tutor. Students can also go in groups: as a rule, if a young student plans to leave with an older friend, then it is permissible - most importantly, to note about leaving and coming to the campus. All other group programs, excursions and trips, including a large number of students, are carefully monitored and must be accompanied by a camp staff member.

Toronto is an extremely developed, distinctive and interesting city, so sightseeing trips are especially cognitive and fascinating. As a rule, excursions are designed for a whole day (1 per week), there are also trips for several hours (also one per week) - plus weekly schoolchildren leave for a cultural and educational extra excursion trip. Departures are planned for lunch and evening - their cost is in most cases included in the cost of the program, but additional excursions do not require a high additional fee, their cost is quite affordable. Types and subject matter can vary depending on the course and the time of studying - an example of trips can be:

  • Full day trip to Niagara Falls
  • Canada's Wonderland
  • Canadian Tour
  • Relaxed holiday at Wasaga Beach.

The following excursions are calculated for several hours:

  • Disco cruise on the river Ontario on a specially equipped ship
  • A visit to Harbourfront & amp; Center Island

  • Visit to the Art Gallery of Ontario
  • Visit to the Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Museum
  • Visiting and participating in seasonal festivals, festivals and fairs.

    Many activities are further discussed, supplemented and coordinated with students in order to be as exciting and interesting as possible. Every day students of Village Сamps St. Michael's are invited to participate in talent shows, dance parties, festivals and competitions, students attend concerts, theaters and sports matches in the city.
