TOP-10 cool books to improve your English grammar

Finding a textbook to your liking is half the battle in learning English! We have compiled the top 10 best textbooks for pumping grammar that can clarify the most difficult questions, even for beginners.

  • English Grammar in Use is one of the most popular and authoritative series of books for learning grammar. The first two books are by Raymond Murphy (red for beginners, blue for Intermediate ), and the third by Hewings Martin for Advanced .
  • Drozdova T. Yu ., English Grammar. Reference and Practice is a textbook in the classical sense, without pictures and ridiculous dialogues. For each topic, there are exercises - challenging ones that you have to think about - that you need to work hard.
  • Golitsynsky Y.B., Grammatics of the English language. Collection of exercises. This book will help you remember everything you know in English grammar. Don't forget to test yourself: the collection of answers is sold separately.
  • Round up - six levels, ranging from the simplest (younger students start learning the language) to the most difficult. As a basic textbook, this book is not very suitable, but as an auxiliary one - quite.
  • Textbooks by M.A. Gatskevich. The structure is as follows: a summary of the topic, exercises and a short vocabulary. Each collection has its own difficulty, indicated by an asterisk on the cover.
  • Macmillan Primary Grammar is a three-level course. Used in elementary school, so perfect for beginners. Differs in a large number of illustrations, simple vocabulary.
  • Grammar Time / New Grammar Time is another series with rules and exercises to consolidate them.
  • Total English - textbooks and workbooks in which you can work out your theoretical knowledge.
  • The Good Grammar Book by Oxford - consists of 21 sections, suitable for beginners. The main feature is that it is designed for independent learning of the language, so everything is painted in great detail and accessible.
  • A practical English Grammar is the most extensive and detailed textbook. Everything is spelled out here! Unsurprisingly, there is no room in the book for exercises, only for theory: two books for practicing practical skills are sold separately.
