Description of The Oratory School

  • Established: in 1859
  • Location: Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
  • Students age: 11 to 18 years
  • Total number of students: 430 people (240 at the guesthouse)
  • Accommodation type: boarding house
  • Type of study: separate (boys only)
  • Educational programs: GCSE, A-level.

Private Oratory School offers separate education (for boys only) from 11 to 18 years on GCSE and A-level programs. This educational institution has repeatedly confirmed the quality of its academic programs and the professionalism of teachers:

  • 20th place in the national ranking of Best Schools (2009)
  • The best school in England for the teaching of design and arts (according to the Good Schools Guide for 2009)
  • The best private school in the country for physical development and athletic achievements of pupils (Daily Telegraph from 2007).

The school was founded as a Catholic school - and to this day remains committed to traditional Christian values: for example, every night before the hibernation (weekdays end at 21:30) the boys gather for a common prayer.

The total number of students reaches 420 people: they are boys (at school it is accepted separate education) from 11 to 18 years. The small size and chamberiness, compactness of the school form a favorable, friendly environment: each student is valued as an independent and unique personality with its valuable characteristics and character. Most of the students are boarders permanently residing on campus.
