St. Margaret's School was founded in 1908 by two English sisters, Edith and Isabelle Fenwick, who were soon joined by their friend Margaret Barton. Study programs provide girls with the knowledge, social contacts and determination to succeed in their studies, careers and life. St. Margaret's School is the only girls' school in Vancouver that creates an optimal environment for achievement.

Depending on the level of English proficiency, foreign students can start their studies in the language learning program. ELLs help students adapt to the Canadian curriculum, developing learning strategies that will prepare them for success in the regular classroom. The School offers several English lessons recommended for international students wishing to continue working on their language skills.

The International English Program includes:

  • A complete course of learning English for different levels of study;
  • More hours devoted to learning English;
  • Class sizes are smaller than normal;
  • Students who speak English enough to succeed in the regular classroom enter the Bridge program at an age-appropriate level - receive 1-2 lessons of special support in English.
