Selkirk College was founded in 1966 and became the first regional college in British Columbia.
Studying at the university is characterized by an active student life. In 1972, the Association of Selkirk Students was founded, which is still operating today: it is responsible for organizing events and excursions, filling students' leisure time with activity, and solving the psychological and material problems of students.
