All teachers of the school have higher professional education and teaching qualifications for teaching Italian as a foreign language (DILS PG, DITALS, CEDILS). The standard group program is suitable for learning Italian at any level. Classes are held in groups of up to 15 people, which are formed on the basis of entrance tests. The duration of one lesson is 50 minutes, and the weekly academic load is 20 lessons. The curriculum includes working with all the main sections of the language: grammar, vocabulary, speaking skills, reading and listening.

Group course Italiano Facile

  • Cost: from 150 € to 450 €.

Such a program is suitable for students who have previously studied the Italian language (you need a level of A2 to participate) and are often in Italy, but they do not have the opportunity to go through a program with a higher load. Here the program will be only 12 academic hours, which are divided into 3 days a week. To obtain the result, a minimum training period of 4 weeks is recommended.

The course is quite popular, because here group training in the morning is combined with individual lessons, which are developed taking into account the needs of each student. The duration of the lessons in the group is 50 minutes, and individually - 60 minutes. The total academic load includes 20 group lessons every week + personal lessons from 4 to 10 per week.

The program is ideal for those who want to get the maximum knowledge in a short period of time or want to study in depth individual aspects of the language - for example, commercial vocabulary or highly specialized.

Long group courses

A long program of teaching the Italian language according to the standard program is suitable for students who go to such courses with different goals:

The weekly load will be 20 academic hours, one lesson lasts 50 minutes. The duration of the program can be 3 months, six months or a year - depending on the goals and capabilities of the student.

Such a program implies lessons in small groups of 3 hours each week in the evening (= 2 lessons of 90 minutes). For convenience, there are 3 instructional streams (each for 30 hours) between October and June. They are divided into three levels:

  • Beginner (A1)
  • Intermediate (B1)
  • Advanced (C1).

On each of the programs, students develop skills approved by the Common European competencies for learning a foreign language: this is speech, writing, listening and reading. Upon joining the course you will need to pay a registration fee of 15 €.

The program is developed taking into account the needs of each student who is preparing for the exam, and is aimed at closing the knowledge gaps.

Italian language + Art in the open air

  • Dates: every Monday

A program of the “Plus” type will allow students to combine the study of the Italian language with other activities that will help foreign guests to better immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of Italy. The lessons you take in your chosen type of activity take place in the afternoon and take from 1 to 3 hours depending on the chosen lesson.

The course, dedicated to the Italian language and open-air art, is a route for the study of urban architecture and history. Students will take walks under the guidance of an experienced art historian and will definitely visit Romanesque churches, in the quarter of the magnificent palaces of the Palazzi dei Rolli and not only. The course is based on three lectures on different eras:

  • The sixteenth century

Program participants will be able to prepare a full menu of national cuisine from appetizers to desserts and complete the learning process by tasting.

One of the best ways to get to know Liguria is the course on the art of ceramics, which the city of Genoa is famous for. Students will have 5 lessons of 90 minutes each at the L'Aria del Mare Ceramics Laboratory. Under the guidance of Laura’s master, participants will be able to take the first steps towards creating their own ceramic products, going through all stages of production - molding, decoration and firing.

Students are waiting for lessons under the guidance of a professional singer, devoted to the study of intonation and pronunciation of speech. The training load for the opera can be from 5 to 20 hours per week.

The two-week course includes Italian lessons, an introduction to culture and national cuisine in the company of peers from around the world. The daily schedule combines morning language lessons and a leisure program the rest of the time - walks in Genoa and the surrounding area, tastings, tours, master classes.

Italian + Diving

  • Dates: every Monday

Programs of the Plus format combine learning the Italian language and engaging in another type of activity of choice. Lessons of the second type take place in the afternoon and take from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the occupation.

Those who choose diving on the Plus program will give themselves the unique experience of diving in the Ligurian Sea. For those who doubt, there is a trial lesson that will help you decide whether to choose such a program for yourself.

The two-week program includes:

  • 10 hours of theory
  • 9 hours of training on the water (in the pool or sea)
  • 4 deep dives on weekends.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Padi Open certificate certifying the possibility of diving to a depth of 18 meters. The training is led by professional diving school instructors.

Accommodation, meals, prices

At the time of study, A door to Italy school is ready to offer students different accommodation options from budget to luxury. All types of housing are located in the central part of the city to provide students with comfortable accommodation, are carefully selected and controlled by the school administration.

  • Host family. This option assumes a family atmosphere, complete immersion in a real Italian life and half board (breakfast and dinner)
