Individual program / course for 2 people

Personal lessons with one or two students with the same language level, where the program is compiled in accordance with the requests of students. The duration of one lesson is 60 minutes. The schedule of classes is flexible and is formed depending on the goals of the student. The program is ideal for those who want to get the maximum knowledge in a short period of time or want to study in depth individual aspects of the language - for example, commercial vocabulary or highly specialized.

Long group courses

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: 3 months / 6 months / 12 months.

A long program of teaching the Italian language according to the standard program is suitable for students who go to such courses with different goals:

• Plan to live and work in Italy
• They want to improve their proficiency to B2 for university entrance
• The need to learn Italian for study
• Obtaining an international certificate of level of ownership C1.

The weekly load will be 20 academic hours, one lesson lasts 50 minutes. The duration of the program can be 3 months, six months or a year - depending on the goals and capabilities of the student.

For participants in long-term programs, it is recommended that after training pass an exam to receive the international certificate CELI, CILS, AIL or PLIDA. Since the school is an examination center for passing the CELI exam, you can pass and prepare here.

Private lessons on Skype

• Duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

Individual lessons via the Internet are the best solution for those who want to touch Italy and learn the language without leaving their home, and do it at a convenient time. Weekly load from 2, 5 to 10 hours.

Evening courses

• Dates: October to June
• Duration: October 7 - December 11, January 13 - March 18, March 23 - June 1.

Such a program implies lessons in small groups of 3 hours each week in the evening (= 2 lessons of 90 minutes). For convenience, there are 3 instructional streams (each for 30 hours) between October and June. They are divided into three levels:

• Beginner (A1)
• Intermediate (B1)
• Advanced (C1).

On each of the programs, students develop skills approved by the Common European competencies for learning a foreign language: this is speech, writing, listening and reading. Upon joining the course you will need to pay a registration fee of 15 €.

Preparation for obtaining language certificates CELI, CILS, AIL, PLIDA

Passing such a course helps in passing the examination tests for knowledge of the Italian language. The program includes individual courses devoted to a detailed analysis of the examination tasks of past years: this is writing, speaking, reading and listening. Classes are held throughout the year according to a flexible schedule, so they can easily be combined with the standard, at which classes are usually held in the morning. The program is developed taking into account the needs of each student who is preparing for the exam, and is aimed at closing the knowledge gaps.

Italian language + Art in the open air

A program of the “Plus” type will allow students to combine the study of the Italian language with other activities that will help foreign guests to better immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of Italy. The lessons you take in your chosen type of activity take place in the afternoon and take from 1 to 3 hours depending on the chosen lesson.

The course, dedicated to the Italian language and open-air art, is a route for the study of urban architecture and history. Students will take walks under the guidance of an experienced art historian and will definitely visit Romanesque churches, in the quarter of the magnificent palaces of the Palazzi dei Rolli and not only. The course is based on three lectures on different eras:

• "Middle Ages XI-XIV"
• The sixteenth century
• "Nineteenth Century and the Beautiful Era."

Italian language + Cuisine

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

The Plus training course will allow students to combine the study of the Italian language with additional activities from the cultural or entertainment sphere. Classes are held in the afternoon in groups or individually.

When choosing the “Italian + Cuisine” course, students will gain experience in creating a menu of traditional Genoese or Italian cuisine under the guidance of professional chef Francesco. Program participants will be able to prepare a full menu of national cuisine from appetizers to desserts and complete the learning process by tasting.

Italian + Ceramics

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

On programs of the Plus format, foreign students combine the study of Italian with an additional type of activity of their choice. Classes of the second type take place after lunch and take from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the type of activity.

One of the best ways to get to know Liguria is the course on the art of ceramics, which the city of Genoa is famous for. Students will have 5 lessons of 90 minutes each at the L'Aria del Mare Ceramics Laboratory. Under the guidance of Laura’s master, participants will be able to take the first steps towards creating their own ceramic products, going through all stages of production - molding, decoration and firing.

Italian language + Photography

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

Educational programs of the Plus format allow students to combine the Italian language program with some interesting type of activity in addition. Classes are held in the afternoon and take from 1-3 hours.

In the course on combining Italian and studying photographic skills, students will receive theoretical and practical knowledge from a professional photographer-teacher Patricia Lanna. The program harmoniously combines classes in the classroom and walks around the city in order to find beautiful places. To participate in the program, anyone needs to have their own photo equipment.

Italian language + Opera

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: from 1 week.

Plus level programs at A door to Italy allow participants to combine learning Italian with a choice of activities. Lessons in the additional area are held in the afternoon and take from one to three hours.

Italy is the country where such famous performers as Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti were born. The opera course is suitable for professionals in the field, or for those who are interested in the topic of work or personal hobby. Students are waiting for lessons under the guidance of a professional singer, devoted to the study of intonation and pronunciation of speech. The training load for the opera can be from 5 to 20 hours per week.

Senior 50+

• Age: from 50 years old
• Dates: March 9, April 6, September 7, October 5
• Duration: 2 weeks.

Italian language study program for older students from 50 years old. The two-week course includes Italian lessons, an introduction to culture and national cuisine in the company of peers from around the world. The daily schedule combines morning language lessons and a leisure program the rest of the time - walks in Genoa and the surrounding area, tastings, tours, master classes.

The course offers:

• 40 Italian lessons in the morning
• 1 guided guided tour
• 2 cultural seminars with discussions
• 1 practical lesson in ceramics with the premises of Genoese trading shops and craft workshops
• 1 half-day excursion in the vicinity of Genoa: in Nervi, Portofino, Camogli
• 1 full day excursion to the coastal cities of Cinque Terre or Portofino
• 1 wine tasting
• 1 dinner in a traditional Genoese restaurant.

To participate in the program requires knowledge of the language at the level of A2 and above.

Family club

• Age: from 7 years
• Dates: throughout the year
• Duration: 2 weeks.

This format allows you to learn Italian as a family: the program includes group courses for adults and lessons for children, taking into account different ages. Classes are taught by professional teachers, teaching materials are provided, and the educational approach is chosen according to age in children's groups. The program is complemented by an interesting leisure part - from visiting a water park to a pizza festival!

The approximate schedule of one day looks like this:

• For children from 14 years old and adults: 4 Italian lessons in classes formed taking into account the level of knowledge (from A1 to C2).
• For children under 14 years: 2 Italian lessons in groups of 6-8 years and 9-13 years + 2 hours of joint educational and recreational activities.

Italian for work

Italian + Diving

• Dates: every Monday
• Duration: 2 or 3 weeks.

Programs of the Plus format combine learning the Italian language and engaging in another type of activity of choice. Lessons of the second type take place in the afternoon and take from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the occupation.

Those who choose diving on the Plus program will give themselves the unique experience of diving in the Ligurian Sea. For those who doubt, there is a trial lesson that will help you decide whether to choose such a program for yourself.

The two-week program includes:

• 10 hours of theory
• 9 hours of training on the water (in the pool or sea)
• 4 deep dives on weekends.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Padi Open certificate certifying the possibility of diving to a depth of 18 meters. The training is led by professional diving school instructors.
