Performers Elite Program for Young Students

  • Age - from 12 years.

Performers Elite is a training program for young schoolchildren from 12 years old. Students receive personal invitations to attend intensive classes, which are held once a month on Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00.

The main direction of study in this course is to develop students' self-confidence and improve the quality of knowledge on specific subjects from different genres of dance, musical theater, singing and acting. Each school day is unique in the selection of disciplines and subject teachers.

Summer School

The summer school at Birmingham Performers College is one of the most popular, so by February all places are usually fully booked – be careful. The training is conducted by local college professors and leading theatre professionals invited to transfer valuable experience and knowledge.

During the week of July 13, students from 12 to 18 years old attend classes in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary art, acting, singing and other professional disciplines. The college organizes evening activities that allow students to communicate with each other, relax, show their talents and learn from other peers. At the end of the week-long course, students present an individual work for invited guests, each student has the opportunity to invite two friends or relatives to the event.

Spring Easter Event Course

A three-day program in honor of the Easter holidays gives future students of the college to get acquainted with training at Performers College. Children from 11 years old will be able to attend a variety of seminars and master classes under the guidance of full-time teachers, get acquainted with already studying students, explore the campus.

At the end of the course, all participants receive a T-shirt with the course symbols included in the price.

Accommodation, meals, prices

As there are no student accommodation facilities on campus, college staff are always available to assist in finding and renting accommodation in Birmingham. Students will be provided with manuals (brochures) including the price range, housing formats (single or shared, apartments or houses), territorial distance from educational buildings and other important facts.

Birmingham is a city that combines opportunities for effective learning and a variety of recreation. It is home to the best concert venues in the UK, many nightclubs, literary and music festivals. In addition to a variety of off-campus activities, students have the opportunity to enjoy the nature of this district: Cannon Hill and Sutton Parks, botanical gardens and the cityscape in the middle of green spaces.

In their free time, students can practice their skills in the theatrical and staging arts, working part-time in Birmingham organizations or participating in national, international competitions and festivals. The campus of Performers College Birmingham is located in Digbet, the city's creative quarter. It is within walking distance of the famous Bullring Shopping Centre, Central Station, many restaurants, theatres and tourist attractions.

Classrooms in the main building include:

The second study space in Birmingham is adjacent to the main building of the college. ACE Space is a multi-purpose, easily adaptable studio for academic classes or events. It is divided into two small rooms, each of which can be equipped as a studio theater with sloping seats and a lighting system or a large hall for music concerts.

All students at Performers College Birmingham can visit the BIMM Institute's birmingham campus and use its studios, classrooms, relaxation and self-study areas.

Admission dates and extra charges

Important dates of the academic year:

Enrolment process

The admission process includes several steps:

  • Filling out the application and providing the necessary documents,
  • Writing a personal statement about ambitions, skills and previous experience,
  • Attending Audition Day,
  • Waiting for an official invitation and booking a place on the course.

On Audition Day, applicants undergo several tests depending on the chosen specialty: they read learned dialogues from famous works, play plays, sing and dance.

Perspectives

Graduates of Performers College Birmingham have the opportunity to participate in internships during their studies. Especially active in their studies, students find work in the field of theatrical and performing arts very quickly - within a few months.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

The decisive factor in accepting new students is their abilities in the performing arts: singing, acting and other specializations. However, each program has its own requirements. Applicants to undergraduate courses will need:

  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit, bank account with local currency,
  • High school diploma with grade transcript,
  • 80 UCAS points in three A-Level subjects or equivalent,
  • Five GCSE disciplines at level C/4 or higher, including English (in which case no additional language test will be required).

Education is conducted in English, so students need to have its sufficient level for understanding and communication: IELTS (from 6.0-6.5), TOEFL (from 72), PTE Academic (from 50) for bachelor's programs. Summer courses and programs for schoolchildren do not require special skills.
