Description of LIM College

  • Established: 1939

About eighty years ago, Maxwell F. Marcuse, an authority and pioneer in education and retail, was invited by leading retailers to create an educational institution for the fashion and merchandising business. In 1939, Mr Marcuse founded the Laboratory Merchandising Institute (LIM), which became the LIM College in 2009.

LIM College takes an experiential approach to education: it is the best way to learn how aspects of the global fashion business interact, offering the knowledge and skills to thrive.

The College offers faculty members with extensive experience in their respective fields, including contemporary fashion and business professionals. Basic courses teach the foundational skills required in any field, including the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and analyze data.

The training includes the necessary internships, the application and development of skills, establishing professional contacts. Guest speakers, industry competitions and special projects, and visits to fashion companies provide an opportunity to link learning and work.
