John Jay College of Criminal Justice is one of the prestigious public institutions in the humanities. The theme of justice is at the heart of every program covering the arts, sciences, and humanities.

The student body is very diverse– more than 130 nationalities are represented among the students: about 45% hispanic, 14% Asian, 19% black and 21% light-skinned students. Among them, about 33% are foreigners. The teaching staff includes about 1,100 specialists of full-time and correspondence departments, many of them are winners of scientific prizes, scholarship holders of presidential grants and honored professors.
