Brighton has always been one of the main tourist centers in England and the UK, but recently it has been gaining weight as a training and student center, a new media capital, the intersection of various cultural trends and arts. Brighton is often called "London by the Sea" - it is so developed, multifaceted, eclectic, full of cultural and historical monuments and modern infrastructure. 1) The annual A-level:

The program starts on September 11 and lasts only 1 academic year (3 terms). Here you need a higher level of English (IELTS from 6.5), students are accepted from 17 years and older. Items for study - mathematics, higher mathematics, physics, chemistry and economics: from this list students choose the three most priority areas. For each subject there are 8 hours of lessons per week, additional homework, design and research activities, and time for individual lessons are provided.

2) Extended A-level:

You can start this program on the following dates: 9-10 April, 11 September, 8 January; The course takes 7-10 trimesters (preparation + training on a classical two-year course). Entry requirements - IELTS 3.5-5.0 (the less time you plan to study, the higher your initial training should be).

This course combines effective preparation for the main curriculum (1-4 terms) and the classic two-year A-level course (6 trimesters): an excellent option for students who are not completely sure in their academic or language knowledge. Students actively prepare for the IELTS examinations (for the enrollment in the A-level course, the examination score must be at least 5.5), develop academic skills, adapt to the new educational, linguistic and cultural environment. Significantly improve the skills of listening, speaking and writing, expanding vocabulary (including specific terminology for each subject), students learn to manage their time and properly organize a personal educational process. A rather wide range of academic subjects is being studied:

  • Humanities (history, geography, political science);
  • Business;
  • Natural sciences (biology, physics, chemistry);
  • Art and Creativity;
  • Sport and physical culture;
  • PSHE (health education).

  • Completed secondary education (10 classes) + report card with grades;

The advanced course is similar in many respects to the classical A-level program and takes 3 terms: students choose their own subjects of highest priority, which they plan to continue studying at the chosen university and faculty. The main subjects of the course are:

2) Extended Foundation:

The program combines the preparation and direct passage of the Foundation's core course: it is designed for 4-7 trimesters in total. Academic requirements here are slightly lower - students with IELTS scores from 4.0 to 5.0 (or an equivalent language certificate) can apply for the program.

1-4 trimester students spend on the preparatory program: improving language and communication skills, acquiring valuable academic skills, preparing for the IELTS exams, studying mathematics and information and computer science (ICT). Then, upon successful completion of the preparatory unit, for 3 trimesters students are trained on the standard Advanced Level Foundation.

3) International Business Foundation:

The program of preparation for colleges and universities for those students who are planning to master business directions and build a career in this field. The course takes 2-5 trimesters, depending on the level of the student's initial training (IELTS level is required from 4.0 to 5.5 - the less your course of study, the higher the level of basic training). The main attention is paid to the study of business disciplines, English (including business English, specific vocabulary), information and computer technologies (ICT), the development of communication and research skills.

4) Art Foundation:

The program is in 3 academic terms especially for students planning to get higher education in the field of art and creativity. Admission requirements are standard, the required level of English is 5.0 and higher on the IELTS scale. In addition to studying specialized subjects in the field of art (80% of school time), students improve academic skills and improve the level of English. The total intensity of the training is 21 lessons per week plus individual, project and group work, homework.

5) Art and Design Preparation Program:

The duration of this preparatory course is from 1 to 3 trimesters, depending on the level of the student's initial preparation (IELTS from 4.0-4.5 is required). The level of the English language (including the vocabulary of profile terms) is actively increasing, personal portfolio is being replenished and structured - an integral element of applicants' application to any profile higher education institutions and higher schools.

  • Age from 17 years and older;

Accommodation, meals, prices

Kings Brighton's summer courses offer two options for comfortable and safe accommodation:

1) Common residence on the Kings Brighton campus:

These are cozy single rooms with private facilities, equipped with all necessary furniture and household appliances (each student has a bedroom and study space, a wardrobe, shelves for storing books, clothes and personal items). In general, free access is a comfortable living room with TV, a spacious cafeteria for half board meals, laundry. Free Wi-Fi is available, and bed linen and weekly cleaning are included. The minimum age of students is 15 years (for summer courses - 16 years).

2) Host family:

Every family, living in which is offered to international students, carefully selected and constantly checked by the staff of the Accommodation Department - you can be assured of the safety and comfort of the proposed conditions. Many of the families have been working with Kings for many years and have perfectly proven themselves as host families for foreign students of any age. All the houses are located no more than 30 minutes from the educational building by bus.

Students in the host houses are offered cozy, comfortable personal dormitories (in summer it is possible to double-bed according to the sex and age principle), free internet access and half board with the rest of the family (breakfast and dinner on weekdays). Weekly pupils can take advantage of home laundry (bed linen is included in the price). Arrivals and departures are organized on Sundays.

Nutrition of students can supplement with walks to local restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, snack bars and cafes - in Brighton they are represented in such a wide assortment that you can find a new place every day and never repeat. Traditions of any area of ​​world cuisine are found in the seaside city:
