Preschool education (Junior and Senior Kindergarten) - 1.5-6 years.

  • Kendellhurst Academy takes a holistic approach to language acquisition. Teachers use active listening to encourage children to develop their oral skills in subjects that interest them.
  • Learning to sing, listening to stories with periods of questions and answers, discussing topics and life events are part of the daily curriculum. Kendallhurst prepares your child for schooling by encouraging the development of fine motor writing skills. Basic drawing and colouring are important first steps in mastering handwriting. Then follows the stage of creating lines and shapes, forming the first letters, words.
  • Arithmetic - Kendellhurst is working on the quantitative understanding of numbers: at the initial stage of brain formation, children should treat numbers with a clear understanding of their value, and not just learn by heart.
  • Social exploration - from history, geography to community and family - the child will learn about the world outside of his own world.
  • Local excursions will complement the curriculum and show children different aspects of life. Kendellhurst educators introduce young minds to a variety of educational materials that teach about the macro and microcosm.

Primary school - 6-11 years old.

Kendellhurst Academy is a place where tradition meets a new era: creativity, intelligence, personal academic success develop within the subject educational context (language arts, vocabulary, mathematics, natural sciences, environmental studies, everyday French, social studies, communications, computers, technology, visual, musical and dramatic arts - performance and dance), physical education with meaningful interdisciplinary connections. The school places particular emphasis on collaborative learning, a dynamic, lively environment. Kendallhurst offers a “community of families” environment for the development of important interpersonal relationships outside the school context.

A small primary school (seven classrooms with a maximum of 112 children) creates a unique sense of a family-friendly, compact community environment. This approach allows a team of teachers and administrators to meet the needs of every child in the school. This lifestyle encourages leadership, collaboration and community.
