Summer English courses + Film Academy

Summer themed course for lovers of cinema! Within two weeks schoolchildren of 13-15 years will learn all the basics and foundations of filmmaking, photography, screenplay, use the most modern programs and tools, and in the end create their own short film by a small creative group.

During the HD Digital Video Production course students will:

  • search for an idea for a movie and write a script
  • make storyboard and plan shooting
  • edit footage with the latest technology and professional tools (Final Cut Pro, a Mac technique)
  • seek the right location - full-scale shooting, landscapes and landscapes
  • Work with professional video, sound equipment and scenario lighting
  • replenish and edit your personal portfolio and much more.

For the students of the program interesting and fascinating excursions of general and thematic character (London tour, Blenheim Palace, visit to the cinema premiere and major famous cinemas) are planned. Also creative meetings, lectures and master classes with recognized professionals of the cinema world, premiere screenings of films are organized. Summer Engineering Courses (Introduction to Engineering)

The introductory summer course "Introduction to engineering sciences" will help students to better understand the basics of the profession and the characteristics of qualifications, the different directions and their key aspects, choose their own career and study path, significantly deepen their knowledge and improve their skills. Working in a team on projects, students will also develop leadership skills and ability to work in a group, master the skills of successful presentations, improve oratory qualities. The program of the course includes the following topics and directions:

  • elementary theories - physics, mathematics
  • production concepts: environmental protection and sustainable production
  • Safety in mechanics and structural engineering

Broadening horizons

  • Duration: 2 weeks.

This is one of the most popular summer school curriculum - it is a flexible course where students can formulate their educational program. It is formed as follows: students are offered a list of more than 30 educational disciplines, divided into two blocks - morning classes and afternoon seminars. Thus, students will be able to study up to three different areas - both new and those that they already know, but where they want to deepen their knowledge.

Lessons in the morning have a more classical structure and take place in groups of up to 16 people (list A or B). The afternoon seminars are built in an interactive format: in addition to in-depth academic knowledge in subjects, they include master classes in leadership and improving personal skills.

Accommodation, meals, prices

There are students during their studies in single rooms of the university residence. The rooms have everything you need for a single guest - a bed, a wardrobe, a table, etc .; common bathroom on the floor, designed for several rooms with students of the same sex: young people and girls live on different floors of the hostel. The residence is also permanently on duty for one of the staff of the college, so if students need something, they can ask for help at any time of the day or night.

Meals during the program for language learning will be organized on a half-board basis - students will be able to receive breakfast and dinner on the school grounds. The staff of the University makes a balanced menu for students, always including a choice of several dishes, as well as a large number of vegetables and fruits.

The Jowett Walk campus is a modern educational building, the territory of which is located in one of the most cozy and tranquil areas of Oxford, a student's city center is a few minutes away. The campus itself is well equipped: there are playing fields for team sports, tennis courts, squash courts and cricket games.
