The preparatory program prepares children 4-6 years old for the beginning of education in the junior Australian school. The language of instruction is English in all subjects, classes take 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), 5.5 hours daily. The course is designed for 20 weeks.

Before the start of classes, all children undergo distributive testing for the existing level of knowledge and skills.

Main subjects of the curriculum:

  • English: communicative approach, separate study of special topics necessary for continuing education (including in Australia).
  • Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
  • Languages and Literature. It is divided into two large stages:
    • Basic language development: the main functions of the language, concepts, genres, analysis of the structure of texts. Attention to all 4 main language aspects: reading, listening, writing, speaking.
    • Language development on specific tasks. The topic of study can be "Continuity of time and change", "Place and space", "Culture and identity" and others.

All parents regularly receive letters and reports on the progress of their children. The main requirement for the successful completion of the course and the transition to the primary classes is the strengthening of knowledge of the English language.

The course is aimed at harmonious, comprehensive, balanced development of a small student. This is an interdisciplinary plan in structure, most relevant to the modern world and fascinating for young students. The study of each subject allows you to delve into the topic, expand knowledge and horizons, see the relationship between different disciplines.

Social development is very important at this stage: social thinking, communication skills, self-management, research skills, critical thinking. Children become more purposeful, diligent, curious, learn to ask the right questions and pick up answers.

Middle class

  • Grades 7-9.

At this stage, specialization has already begun: teachers help students determine the most interesting and priority subjects for them that meet their interests and future career aspirations, will be needed for admission to college or university. John Paul offers a wide range of subjects, so there's one for everyone; the study of foreign languages that children have chosen for themselves in the primary grades continues.

Compulsory subjects:

  • English language
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities
  • History
  • Geography
  • Health and physical education.

In the 9th grade, preparation for transfer to high school (10-12) begins, students prepare for exams for the Queensland Certificate of Secondary Education (QCE). The QCE course begins in the middle of the 10th grade.

Senior Classes

  • Grades 10-12.

Two important components of a high school program are:

  • Preparation for final exams and obtaining QCE, Queensland Certificate of Education,
  • Consulting and preparation for universities in Australia and the world, ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank).

At the beginning of grade 10, students begin planning their plan in high school (SET planning). Each is assisted by consultants and teachers so that the choice of subjects for in-depth, detailed study is as accurate as possible. This is important, as the chosen specialties must meet future university and career aspirations.

There are only two compulsory subjects – English (including a literature course and the direction "English as an additional language") and mathematics (4 sections). A wide range of QCAA electives are available for study from the second semester of the 10th grade: there are both applied and theoretical:

  • Natural sciences: biology, physics, chemistry, psychology,
  • History
  • Geography
  • Economics
  • Legal education,
  • Accounting and business,
  • Technology and IT, design, engineering,
  • Foreign languages: German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese,
  • Arts: music, theater and drama, visual arts, choreography,
  • Health and physical development.
