  • Location: Queensland, Australia
  • Year of foundation: 1901 – for girls, 2003 – for boys
  • Language of instruction: English
  • Number of students on campuses: more than 1600

  • The Women's College (MBC) was founded by the two Green sisters in 1901 as a high school for girls. Currently, it has about 1260 girls from preschool age to 12th grade.
  • The Men's Day School (MBBC), founded in 2003, educates more than 450 boys from elementary to high school.

The curriculum includes several main areas of study: English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Arts and Humanities. For high school students, a wider choice of subjects is open according to their interests, as well as a personal development program, professional courses.

Each college consists of faculty houses, each of which has its own coat of arms, colors, and direction.

Kindergarten and elementary school
The age range is 15 months to 12 years old.
Morton Bay Colleges has a large department for young students with several programs:

Early Development Program: 15 months to 5 years old.
The youngest children have access to an early learning program in which boys and girls study together. Over the course of about four years, students gain basic knowledge and skills about the world around them, society and their abilities, learn self-care, communication and conflict resolution, and try different types of self-expression and realization of their ideas. Classes will take place both in the classroom and outdoors, which will diversify daily lessons and help the children adapt more quickly to the school environment.

The curriculum includes lessons from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, for 50 weeks of the year. To ensure that each child is treated individually, groups are made up of children of the appropriate age. The children are divided into four groups: 15 months to 2 years, 2 to 3 years, 3 to 4 years and 4 to 5 years.

Pre-Prep: ages 5 and up
For one year, students will prepare for the transition to the first step of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. At this stage, girls and boys attend classes separately.

The curriculum is a child-centered approach. Teachers constantly observe the children, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, to help them develop and discover new interests. Our classes are from 8:30 to 14:30 from Monday to Friday. The children are divided into groups that do not change throughout the year: the child sees familiar faces every day and has the opportunity to make friends and get used to his surroundings.

The Preparatory Program (Prep): Ages 6 and Older
Prep is the first year of the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). The course focuses on your child's development as an explorer, helping them develop basic social skills in communication, reading and writing and mathematics. All children are linked to older pupils for joint support before entering Year 5. Upon admission, each child is given a third grade mentor, and they grow together through several school milestones in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. For example, the younger boys love to support their older mentors at athletic competitions, and the girls love to attend their older friends' dance recitals.

Elementary school: from age 7
The elementary school teaches children from age 7 to 12, offering a program from first through sixth grades inclusive. During these years, girls and boys will study basic and elective subjects in an effort to discover their strengths. The foundation of academic preparation is in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Economics and Business, Humanities, Science and Social Studies. Additionally, students will be able to add classes in music, foreign languages, physical education, performing arts and other areas that reflect their hobbies and personal interests.
