Jaume I University (UJI) is a higher education institution that is part of the Vives network. Xarxa Vives d'Universitats includes 21 universities from Catalan-speaking regions in four countries: Andorra, France, Italy, Spain.

The university is named after Jaime I, the king who founded the Kingdom of Valencia.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The university residence offers about 250 mini-apartments on campus for students, teachers.

The dormitory of the University of San Lucas accommodates students in Cabañal, Ayora. The building is located near the medical faculty, transport stops, the city center. Accommodation options with monthly payment:

  • Rooms with shared bathroom – 400€
  • Rooms with private bathroom – 500€.

You can pay for accommodation for a minimum of 10 months. The price includes utilities, WiFi payment.

Youth residence Mare de Deu del Lledo is a three-storey residential building:

Domus Mariae is a residence in the historic center of Castellón. It is equipped with 40 rooms, offices, recreation areas, dining room, kitchen. There is a spacious garden with a chapel on site.

Facilities and equipment at Jaume I University

On the 176,000 m2 campus there are buildings of four faculties, many research, management buildings located around the central garden of Jardí dels Sentits ("Garden of the Senses").

The Dry River campus is now a large university town. It has become an open space for society through various cultural and sports activities.

The UJI Sports Service has more than 90,000 m² of sports facilities divided into different zones: sports pavilion, badminton and tennis court, swimming pool, outdoor stadium, running tracks.

The library of the university contains about a million copies of books, about 145,000 electronic databases and journals.

Admission dates and extra charges

There are two semesters in the school year:

  • September-December
  • January-May.

Exams are held in January, May-June. Classes are organized from Monday to Friday, holidays - in June-August.

Monthly additional expenses:

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

You can apply for admission on the official website of the university by registering in your personal account.

For admission to the bachelor's degree, applicants will need:

  • TOEFL/IELTS certificate if the student is a foreigner
  • Registration fee.
