Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA)

Doctorate of Public Administration (DPA)

Both doctoral programs operate on the same principle:

The duration of the course is 4-5 years. PhD programs operate in cooperation with the University of Plymouth. The programs are specially designed in such a way that students can learn without breaking away from the main work.

Both programs consist of two stages:

Step 1: Theory and methods of research (duration - 18-24 months).

Students perform 6 required modules with 6 assignments. Each module is taught in a separate workshop. Five seminars are held at the University of Geneva, and one at the University of Plymouth. Each seminar lasts 3 days (from Friday to Sunday). Attending seminars is mandatory. The seminars deal with the following issues:

  • Interaction between theory and practice
  • Methodological approaches
  • Methods of data collection
  • Competing paradigms of research methods
  • Data analysis
  • Conducting research in accordance with the standards of doctoral studies.

Stage 2: Writing a doctoral dissertation (research paper) (24 months).

Participants who successfully completed stage 1 are given the candidate status. Next is the work on writing a research project and its protection during public impressions.

Successfully passed both stages of studying is awarded the degree of Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) or Doctorate of Public Administration (DPA).
